Is it safe to use live batteries (still have power in them) as weights for the inside of a handle of a gun? Hot glueing them in, I don't know if the heat'll affect anything. So is hot glue + live batteries safe?

I weighted an airsoft gun recently, and I would not recommend batteries. Hot glue stacks of pennies in. That's what I did.

And remember to have multiple weighted points to make it feel like it's the whole gun that's heavy, not just the handle.

If at first you don't succeed, add more epoxy.

It depends on the heat of the hot glue gun. If it's dual setting and you put it on the low setting, you should be safe.

What makes you think that HOTTER hot glue would make using a battery a problem?

The only problem with batteries is that as they age, they can corrode and leak. You're better off using something completely inert in the first place....pennies, washers, carriage bolts.

Alright, thanks for the input everyone. I'll use some pennies instead, just to be safe.

I weighted my DiskShot Blaster earlier today with DEAD batteries, and it works great. I just took some batteries out of some broken toys, tested them to make sure they were used up, and glued them in.

The chances of one person taking a bomb on a plane are one in a million. The chances of two people taking a bomb on a plane are one in a trillion. So if you're scared of a terrorist attack, bring a bomb on a plane.
