I just got a Big Salvo, and I had a few questions.

Pump is NOT plugged.

1. What barrel material works best?/What length?
5" of PETG isn't giving me desirable results.

2. Something is rattling inside one of the tanks, but isn't affecting performance. Is it just glue or something similar?

3. Would plugging the pump make it completely unfair? i.e. over 100' per tank?

4. How have they worked out in larger wars? Is the power vs. reload time at all effective?

Thanks in advance.

I don't currently use one, but I use to.

1 - 8" of your size fitting brass will work wonders.

2 - It's most likely glue or a lose end of extra plastic.

3 - That's someones opinion, but I had mine unplugged for safety reasons. Friends like to overpump

4 - At APOC I saw at least 2 people with them, and they served them well. It's a longer ranged gun, so you have time to reload if people are running at you.

Overall it's a great gun, and a good primary.

To mod a Big Salvo, you don't need to open it up at all. But since you have something rattling, you might want to open it up before the rattling drives you crazy.

PETG barrels work best, you need longer than 5", try 8".

Plugging the pump would have it hit about 100'.

So far, a tighter dart fit has worked best.

I got 78' with taggers in CPVC.

Anyway, I'm off to our weekly night skirmish, so I'll post my results late tonight.

A BS is very good, I have owned a marvelous salvo, and almost gutted a LS JUST to give them a shell. I was getting 110ft with a plugged 2k pump at 22 pumps, and 10 inches of PETG (which is slightly tight on my darts).
I have a BS in the mail, and BS tanks coming as well. Yes, you guessed right: BS with Marvelous Salvo integrated :(

It's just screaming to be rearloading...

I seen a movie about that once.

I'm getting almost 120' with CDTD's and 10" of CPVC. However it is VERY impractical to reload because the barrel fits so tight.

What works for other people won't necessarily work for you. If you've got enough barrel material just put in barrels you think will be an inch or two too long, test it, record the approximate ranges, cut a bit off the barrels and test again. Keep taking off more until the range no longer improves or starts to decrease and you'll have your ideal barrel length.

Since all four tanks are the same size you could just do one extra long barrel and test it this way to find out the best length, then put that length on all the other tanks so you wouldn't be wasting much barrel material.

Is it normal for the last barrel to have the least range?

Yes, somewhat. Some of the air pressure tends to leak from the system. Particularly if you are firing individually, rather than as a burst. This is partly due to the design of the trigger mechanism, which is why the SMDTG trigger is preferred for integrations.

He can't say because it would violate forum rules.

I'll PM you the link.

So then you got it on ebay? It's not violating unless you got it from there. I have them in stock for 13.99 at my meijers tho. I have around 4 bss still intact. My favorite is one that I got from OMC. It has about 5-6 inches of petg per barrel and it works wonders with darts that are snug in it. They are very easy to mod unless the trigger is messed up. And even when it is it is still easy to fix. It is a great gun overall and would be glad to buy more if I had the money.
