I am making a torque bow out of a BBB. For those who do not know what a torque bow is, it is a weapon from GOW. I am making this thread so you guys can give me some hints, tricks, or ideas to make this thing. I am trying to make it as realistic as possible.

Heres a pic: Posted Image

I have looked at the Lancer, and have gotten a couple ideas from that, but I still need your guys feedback. Thanks! Ps: I WILL finish this, its not some project that never gets done, but it most likely will be sold on ebay.

My vote would be to start with a bbb, as obvious as that statement sounds. If you want the bow to extend like it does in the game, I'd hinge the bow parts and run a string up the front of each piece. Run it through a hole in the top and connect both ends to the back half of the gun.

Like ones that have springs in them so they return to their original places?

Perhaps a few interlocking pieces (To catch on to the bow parts) and torsion springs on both, so when the lock is held, the bow parts spring out.

Yea, but what about the trigger, should I even bother carving it into the shape it is in the game? And what should I make the blade out of?

well i think bbb is a bad idea, this gun looks like a pistol so i think the obvious one to start with is the nightfinder but also a maveric could work, for the limbs of the bow since they wont actualy be doing anything just put plexi glass there or some other hard plastic and there you go.

bbb is not the way to go i think

I don't think that your grammer is the way to go. Use the shift bar and period keys, they come in handy.

On topic: I would use a Big Bad Bow and use some bow arms so that when you cock the gun back the arms move. I have a pair of Just Toys Cross bow arms if they are needed.

Regardless of his grammar he made valid points. Enhance your reading comprehension if his grammar bothers you that badly.

Myself from that little pic it would seem perhaps an urukai bow might be a good candidate. Or possible a disk shot pistol cut down and then built up to build the bow arms/blades. Plexiglas is going to be a great choice if you have the means to cut it with detail.

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.

The beggining looks like a singled Maverick. If you sand down the front and epoxy somthing on it then add the BBB limbs it would look like the bow better than just a BBB.

No, you should definitely use the bbb for this. Aside from the fact that this gun is much longer then a pistol in the game, it should be super easy to get the bow parts to spring up when you cock the bbb. I also think a laser that turns on when the bow is primed would be pretty cool. Then use epoxy putty or whatever to add the cosmetic details.

I can do that. Oh, and guys, I don't need to know what gun you think I should use, it IS going to be made out of a BBB.

The only things you need for this are plexiglass, polycarbonate, bondo, sandpaper and patience. Lot of patience.

It's made to fill in dents in cars, but it is basically like...epoxy with no strength. It is what I used to make my Lancer look like a Lancer.

Try making it like the Nitefinder laser, except its activated when something that moves back when the BBB is cocked activates it.You could put it right under the barrel

In this pic, and from what I remember in the game, the laser looks to be right above the barrel, and...don't use an NF "laser". This is gonna be a pseudo-prop, but laser pointers are like $5. Make sure that you give it an on/off switch though. You don't want to point it in someone's eye in a war.

For the laser, I'd get a pressure sensitive laser sight for a pistol or air-soft gun. They're a bit expensive though ($20+)

Well, if you really want to go crazy with this, you can go to www.buildabluelaser.com. Build one of these and you can have a cool bright blue laser that matches the game. I have a friend thats working on this and his prototype(sp?) is amazingly bright( I can see the beam, but then again same with powerful green lasers). Then integrate this sucker and you're set! I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this project goes...
