I recently found out that last week, when I was making stefans, I left the hot glue gun on. I mean it was on ALL week. I tried using it again, and it worked, but instead of being clear, the glue looked like amber-brownish gold. Is this normal or is my glue gun radioactive?

oh, yea, I'll try to have pics by the end of the day.

You might have burnt the glue. I don't know if that is possible, but to me it sounds like the most reasonable thing.

Inside the glue gun, there is a brwonish plastic layer that covers a few parts. That most likely melted and got in the path of the glue sticks. It may also be burntglue, but this has happened to me a few time s when the gun was only eft on for an hour.

Happened to my friend several times. It's just cooked glue. He just used it through a few more sticks and it turned back into the clear-coloured.

If the hot glue has backed out around the glue stick you'll have to plug it in again and pry the current stick out backwards and clear the excess. Then use a new stick to empty the burnt glue.

I have a very single-track mind and can only obsess over one thing at any given moment. I've forgotten about it and left mine plugged in for a few days. It's all of 40 watts and the fire hazard is nonexistent. You're likely to kill the glue gun or waste electricity, but that's all the danger there is really.

I can imagine that a lesser quality one such as the poorly built minis could potentially lead to a fire hazard. All it takes is a spark.
I myself can tend to absent minded ,but I always remember to unplug stuff. Tho I do have a 2yr old child in the home so maybe I make it a point to make sure I'm not leaving things around that could hurt others or put my family at danger.
