You pushing so hard to ban them completely without question or consideration is really the dick move in this thread. The plunger tube on a LS isn't much different in size then the RFSG. so mod the shit out of yours and make a superclip. Then you have nothing to complain about. Or take the 4 months that you have until the next war and put your effort into something else to build. I took the time to build my RFSG and am proud of what I built. And I'm not going to allow it to be shut out of a war simply because someone else does not own one.

Thank you for finally stating the real reason that you want them banned. You don't own one and thats why you don't want them there. Yeah that was a great reason,[Sarcasm] REAL FAIR[/Sarcasm]. If you feel that you cannot compete unless you have a RFSG then get one and stop bitching.

Like I said if they prove to be too overpowering then they will be removed. Would you then complain about that since you went out and bought one?

That actually wasn't the reason I wanted them banned. I believe I outlined that reason on page 2 in response to a comment from boom. I was saying maybe I should go buy them because, if they are allowed, I don't want to be outgunned. I'm not actually going to, because I don't want to spend more money on nerf at the moment. Whatever, we'll see how it goes. What I don't understand is why you suddenly have the power to decide whether they will be legal or not, when majority vote says they don't want them at the war. You're acting like I'm the only one who doesn't want them.

But I'll rest my case now, because apparently you have the power to change rules at this war as you see fit without taking anyone else into consideration. And I know I haven't been to an NIC hosted war before, so I may be wrong about you being able to change stuff that was already voted on. If that's the case then just shoot me a PM and I'll delete the part of this post that accuses you of the said action.

No you're not the only one aganst them, but you ARE the one that is making a point to repeatedly voice your opinion about them being banned over and over.

All this BS here in this thread is just that BS. If they are to be banned it will be in person not over the forum here. That is fair. I didn't say I had the power to decide if it should be banned or not. But like I said. It was laid out early in this thread that it is home field rules, and I do decide the field rules for W@M. So yes I am kind of pulling an executive move here and saying that their legality will not be decided in this thread. And not simply because you don't have one or want to go buy one and think that they decide the game. They are just a blaster. If you don't think thats fair I don't know what else to say. I'm bringing mine.


If I mod an AT4K and it hits 100' will that also get banned? Where does this end? I can accept banning a gun for safety reasons, that is reasonable and understandable. But banning a gun because you think its too good and don't want/know how to make one/lack time/whatever is dumb.

So again. If a blaster is found to be too overpowering regardless of what it is then it is only fair that it be removed from the game. Considering that springers can be modded to different levels based on skill of the modder it is unreasonable to place a sweeping ban on any single blaser. And should be considered as a per situation. If mine only gets 50' of range are you going to still say that its too powerful? Of course not. Blasters will be banned on the basis of consistent excessive performance resulting in injury or unbalancing of the play field not because of the type of blaster.

Now what I will say is I'm sorry for not just stepping in and laying it out like this earlier in the thread. But your repeated posting in outcry against the blaster really finally got on my nerves.

Tantum, I think you will find that most NIC wars are either a dictatorship or an oligarchy, and there is little voting going on. I realize that I have a vested interest in using RFS's, but like BS said, I've put a fair amount of effort in to it, and I would like to use it. I haven't gotten to use it in a war at all, so it's not like I'm going to be awesome with it anyway. I have plenty of other blasters that I want to play with, and I am not just going to use the RFS all day, either. I'll certainly let anyone else try it out if they would like. I've had so many different blasters that I haven't gotten to play with, that I won't be limiting myself to one. Besides, the games are not about owning everyone on the field. They are about having fun.
So don't freak out, it will all be okay, and we'll all have fun. Build your Longshot, and maybe you will get a drum magazine before the war?
I'm serious about the new blaster, though. I am having trouble with it blowing the breech five feet out the front, though. I need to build a lock for the barrel. You guys are going to hate me.

On a completely different note, would anyone be interested in an awesomely couplered but horribly painted SS2? There's a write up in my sig. The reason its so crappily painted is because I didn't get to finish it before my heart started acting up (search "arithmea" if you wanna hear the whole story).

edit: tried to look at your SS2 mod, but the pics are not working. Just to confirm, its the red pistol that gets sm750 ranges right?

I thought the voting system worked out the best. It's best to appeal to the masses, and that's exactly what we were doing. If you want to bring your RSFGs to test them out at the war, then I think that's alright. But I don't think they should be automatically legal just because we voted to have the war at the same place W@M is hosted.

If it's assumed that we're having home field rules, does that mean you are going to allow shields? Because I'm sure as hell there will be an overwhelming majority vote against that.
Once again, I think we should just bring them to the war, then give them some test shots. Then we will vote again. People who are still against them will stand on one side, and the people for them will stand on the other. I'd say that's much more fair than a single person deciding what goes.

Right, it's gonna Go down like this. SOFnos are gonna be run under Mostly Local rules... of course we're also gonna share with you some of the Ways We SoCalers play too... (mainly our specialized games) but that's beyond that point.

This isn't a single person saying that they will be legal. this is a single person shooting down this premptive online vote against them that is all. They should be allowed at least long enough to determine if all this hubbub was all for nothing. If after a round or two everyone still feels the same about them then we can vote them out and I will be happy to swap out to a different blaster. Its just kind of stupid to globally ban them because there are a couple horribly overbuilt ones.

Shields? Again, I will probably bring mine.If you have one you should too. Maybe we can make up some way to incorporate them into a game.

Yep, that's the one. I''ve been looking around and it seems that a fully functioning SS2 goes for about 25 bucks. Would 20 be about good because of the shit paintjob? You can decide once photobucket unlocks my photos later this month. Then I'll upload a picture of the shell, and you can see the mod in my sig.

Edit: I forgot to say that one side of the shell looks good. The other is just messy. I you wanted to buy the gun for 25 I could throw in the spray paint that I used. That's only if you like the color scheme.

Like many wars, you bring your guns and we do a range/power test. If people say "ah hell no!" then we don't allow them.

I have never seen anyone use one, or even heard of one, so I'd say bring it and test it out. I'm sure most people would say the same.

I'm fine with it. Most people don't realize (mainly because nobody installs pressure gauges) that plugged pump blaster regularly hit pressures like 50, 60, 70PSI, just like you might run an external tank at.

Oh, and since you will probably want to know.... Carquest had tire pressure gauges for less than $3, but they have a straight thread which is roughly the same as 1/8" NPT. Walmart has them for $5, but they are equipped with standard 1/8" NPT.

We can keep going around and around about what should be banned and what shouldn't be banned. Here is a suggestion: How about 9:00 through 9:30 we will range test all the questionable blasters. If your late then don't bother asking because your blaster is automatically banned. Lets focus on how kick ass this war will be.
