As the poll asks, which do you guys think is a better suited name? We will be spray painting the name in neon green on to the side.

P.S. The second choice is derived from Monty Python's Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

We are making it specifically designed for outdoor use at our church. It will release darts as the shell flies through the air, causing a tiny spread. I will post a paint picture of the roughly basic design in a sec.

That is where I got the Idea from, at least the shell/ cartridge thing anyways. We will use some sort of old can as the "cartridge". The can will be loaded with darts of course, so it will act kind of like an airstrike.

Safety Edit: Yes, we will "safe" the can with foam.

interesting. I hope this project gets somewhere. As for the name, noob slayer is over used and stupid. There is nothing funny or interesting about it. This isn't any videogame this is nerf.

But put the naming of the gun aside and build it.

For the can, cut the can into 1/4ths, and tie th pieces together with string. fill with darts, put wad of foam as sabot, fire it, and as hellfire falls from the sky, shoot the poor bastards on the recieving end.




And yes, I did pull "As hellfire falls from the sky" from the song's lyrics. Deal with it.

I hate paint.

I'm not saying that paint is the best program in the world, but if you learn to use it properly, you can do some decent work with it. I'm assuming you hate the huge size of your image, which was then resized by imageshack into something unviewable - correct?

If so, here's what you do - use the scroll bars to the right of and below your image to scroll to the bottom right. Be sure that no selection is currently active (i.e. copy/paste tools), and there should be a little black box in the corner of the image that changes your mouse cursor when you roll over it (likely to a diagonal, double-arrow). If you click on that and hold it, you can drag your image's borders around, making it larger or smaller. Play with that a bit, and you can eliminate all that nasty white space on the image, and imageshack won't make it nearly as small.

(You can accomplish the same basic thing by clicking "Image" on the menu bar, then clicking "Attributes". This brings up a small window where you can specify the width and height of your image. Play with those numbers to crop the image.)

Yes you may. And durka, I AM BUILDING IT! We need to get the parts this month, And this will be put into fruition. We need to find the right dimension cans to use as the canisters, and that will be the only holdback. It WILL be built sooner, but that depends on if the money I get tomorrow is sufficient enough to get COD:WAW. IF it isn't, I will begin construction this week. I will notify you guys tomorrow of whether we have sufficients funds, and if the other collaborator besides CB29 and myself has a certain pipe leftover from rennovating his basement.

You need not hate paint. You must simply realize within yourself and the program the true potential for greatness.

As for the name...why The Holy Nerf Cannon of Antioch isn't winning is completely beyond me.

Just be careful when toying with homemade exploits large-scale projectiles. Even with the sabot setup you've got going there, those darts could be traveling at some pretty incredible velocities with a homemade airtank behind them. Make sure the system is inefficient enough to give you an unpredictably effective dart spread without giving you an unpredictably dangerous barrage...

To use paint well, you HAVE to be an actual artist and a programmer. Those qualifications are the only way you can get around mspaint. Then yes, paint has potential.

I hate bagging on my own creation, but they could run to the left or right. And does anyone know if hardware stores sell 6" to 1 1/4" converters for PVC?
