So I was recently looking at the merchandise section of nerfhaven when i noticed nerfhaven was over $200 fricken dollars from breaking even. I wish there was some way I could help but unfortuneatly I'm completely broke. So I'm just making this topic to ask if there are any ways that those of us without money could some how lend a hand?

I would assume the easiest way would be for you to stop posting, resulting in the site using less bandwidth.

A site needs to have money to run. If your not gonna donate, or buy a nerf haven thong, there's not really anything you can do.

Actually, there is something. cxwq is gonna be updating the selection of shirts we have available for purchasing at cafepress.com, and after that (or before that if you wanna grab the old line while they're still available) you can buy them and that will help out Nerfhaven's cause. Plus, you'll get some sweet ass gear to floss up in yo crib.

I always thought "even" meant $0, and that the amount of mount displayed was how much they had earned or lost. Basically, I thought they had made 250 or so dollars off the merchandise, rather than lost it.

well like i said before i'm broke. trust me if i had the money i'd donate it or i'd buy one of those kickass shirts. however i'm broke. i was wondering along the lines of somehow spreading news about nerfhaven through mailing lists and such. if cx would send me a list of people to mail to about nerfhaven i'd gladly mail them asking for an advertisement or something. i was just on the mudvayne website and they were doing something similar.

Well, it says this: "NerfHaven is currently $259.02 away from breaking even." Sorry Grinch, but you were mistaken.

Actually C, I would buy a messanger bag if it was black with a blue logo, but the yellow is too bright for my dark motif.

I prefer not to talk about it...
Anyways, I was just kind of stating the obvious. As for advertising, I dunno. I'd rather pay a small yearly subscription fee than have to look at advertisements on NH. Besides, with the type of traffic it gets most companies aren't going to leap at the chance to pay for space here. Unless its porn.

I want the new T-Shirts and thongs dammit!!!

Yes, the site is $259.02 in debt. In less vague terms, what this means is Vacc and I have paid $259.02 more for domain registration, site hosting, etc than the ads and cafepress merchandise in the store have earned us.

We only mark up the cafepress merchandise $1 over the minimum but it's still the biggest money maker for the site. I'll get the new slogans up Real Soon Now.

How about $5 for a custom avatar?
Or you could allow members to post their banner ads for donations. I would pay for an LGLF banner ad when I update my site. And I would pay for a custom avatar too.

When we opened this place we promised there wouldn't be banners and we're going to stick to that.

We had considered a `subscriber' deal of sorts. yourname@nerfhaven.com email redirect plus a custom avatar to encourage people to donate $10 or $15.

How much interest is there in that kind of thing?

My parents are still paranoid over the whole credit card on the internet thing. So, I would only do it if you accepted personal check or money order. If you did, then there's a chance I would go for it. No so much for the stuff I get, but to give you guys some extra cash.

Oh, and I think we all want hummers Groove. Just not from VACC.
