As off-topic as those lyrics are, I think they pretty well describe yesterday's festivities. The first half of our day was played in light rain, and the rest on the wet grass at Pioneer Park, a first time for that location. Lots of sliding around on the grass, and LOTS of "peepin" and hidin'" in the range-oriented playground equipment...tons of fun.

I am SO fucking sore.

Yeah, that was awesome.

My count is a bit off because we had people coming and going late and early throughout the day, but I'm pretty confident that even without SorrowX's group and Watari & Co., we were pushing forty total for attendance today. There are at LEAST ~30 in the group photos on Soccerdog's camera...can't wait to see them!

Some major higlights from my day:
>9:00 arrival time Effeminate WIN. We didn't START at 9, by any means, but the 9:00 arrival time caused us to START our first round of the day AT 10:00. Now THAT is an accomplishment, and because of it, it felt like we played a LOT more before lunch break, and our lunch break was earlier than usual.
>Getting used to the Arrowstorm I got off of Bags courtesy of Cheeseboy while my crossbow was down for the count due to the coupler snapping off again.
>Blocking some eight incoming shots with the Scimitar.
>Being on the Receiving end of one of Fireshaw's two awesome CTF assists.
>Making the most Effeminate flag return run, like, ever courtesy of said assist, involving spinning a full 360 degrees ON my kneepads in the wet grass, sliding several feet across the sand, and several other ridiculous means of continuing my progress while dodging.
>Meeting all you fine new folk.
>Getting a chance to play somewhere new, though the park was basically standoff city.
>Watching Redhead come into his own. Dude...you're one of the most rock solid Nerfers the Knights have ever had.

It was a great, first war with the NIC; I look forward to more.

Several Atom Blaster and Thunder Fury kills
Aiding Falcon and my brother in the two flag captures
Half Squat, the awesome little kid to the right of Falcon, shooting me in the back
PILZ's fortress defense

Cons:
Slippery grass
Civilians with weak bladder control

Thanks for putting the picture up. I tried to put it up earlier but I was having problems.
On to the pros and such.
Pros:
Having a huge turn out.
Shooting some kid in the glasses form like 80 feet way.(He was fine)
Getting a lot of good kills.
Pilz and my little showdown in the second round. I WON!!!
College roommates coming out to play for a little bit.
Getting some great new ideas for my guns.

Cons:
Very slippery.
Siggy holing up in the castle and being impossible to shot.(Awesome but annoying)
Not getting to take more pictures.

Overall a great day and I had a lot of fun.

Who is the old guy with the little kid? How old was the little guy? I'm mostly interested because I would like to bring my son to Red Star's war up here next month, but I'm hesitant because he's only seven.

I think he was only six or seven which is the youngest we have ever let at a war that I can remember. It is tough having little kids there because everyone is afraid to shot them because we don't want to hurt them.

only1darttokillyou!'s son. That little kid is a great player and a good sport regardless of age. It all comes down to an individual's maturity level, which isn't necessarily proportional to age. People may feel bad about shooting a seven-year-old in the face, but they'll still do it.

Pros
-Seeing some new people to the Nerf scene
-Dorm buddies showing up
-Supermaxx1500 Staying fixed, and performing beautifully
-Hearing about all these future abominations in the works between Bags and Falcon
-9:00 Nerf time
-Playing successfully without actually running, twas a lazy day
-Awesome younglings, seriously, these kids take darts to the face with much more sportsmanship and dignity than I do.
-No blasters breaking
-Shooting someone in the palm of the hand (that was badass, almost a Tony/PILZ moment)
-Not falling asleep at the wheel on the drive home (tiring day)
-Fireshaw being awesome (we need to get you an full auto blaster next time)

Cons
-Deciding to wear pants instead of shorts, big mistake
-Soggy feet
-Soggy darts
-Soggy socks
-General soggyness
-Walking backwards into a tree, that hurt
-David not getting any pics besides the group shot

Overall good day, despite soggyness. Oh, and the weekend brought about a flurry of Nerf related ideas. Expect a Longshot in our group that shoots our monster sized darts soon. Hopefully David will have some new primaries for our cohorts to use as well.
