Well, you see I wanted to make some stefans because I'm losing a ton of darts and my mom won't let be because they will "hurt" is this true? Is there any way I can make them not "hurt"?

Thanks in advance,

Well, heres a great sticked thread that people tell them their ways on making stefans, but not only their ways, but how much the effect pain. I suggest CS style stefans if you think *regular stefans hurt*. http://nerfhaven.com...?showtopic=4646

It's not me who think they hurt, it's my mom, she doesn't want me to shoot my brother with them... =(

I disagree. Welts left at regular wars are 80% slug darts. The metal washer, even though there is felt, still hurts and I've seen many people (Myself, Splitlip, and Talio included) bleed from being hit with said darts. However the only time Ive ever bled from a regular dome hot-glue dart is when i got shot point blank by a plugged at2k.

You might want to check out matchstick stefans, which is pretty much FBR dipped in Plastidip. It's a cheap substitute for stock darts, and doesn't have enough weight to really cause pain.

Forget about ranges; range means nothing if your blaster is a giant rattle after three shots.

I've never gotten matchstick darts to work right.
What I have done about the painful darts when playing with kids is to glue a 1/4" slice of FBR on the weight instead of making a dome.

Use a rubber washer instead of a metal one and don't put any weights on it or cover the washer with hot glue.

Don't shoot your (I'm guessing younger) brother with stefans, just do a better job searching for your stock darts.

Instead of a washer, either A) make a dome with hotglue, and hope it has enough weight, or B ) but a BB under on the stefan and glue it down.
