Hello everyone. a few months ago I was working on a Longshot, when I wanted to do an Agel breech. I didn't have the tools to work with brass at the time, so I set out to find a barrel material that came in an abundance of sizes. I came across this Chinese market, and there was a fish store. I remembered someone said that PETG was for tanks, so I went in to see what I can get my hands on. I grabed several feet of each and came up with the following...

That is the rear section of a PETG Angel breech.

here are some other angles...

And this is my sloppily painted Longshot, which will soon be done by hand, with a Shotty Foregrip.

I was thinking about this and wondering what sizes to use. Also do you think that the PETG will shatter?

Obviously a singled CPVC is going to be just as powerful. If you get an airtight seal out of the breech, that's all you're going to get.

Unless your darts are a crappy fit.

But excellent job, I don't want to sound like I'm ragging on your mod, it's really great, the only problem is that sized PETG is much harder to find than brass.

Kudos to you.

I get all giddy when I see VACC browsing a stupid topic. I just know someone is going to get banned.

I like it. Good use of materials. Only problem is I can't see it. You think you could post some significantly less blurry pictures?

Sorry for the blurry pictures. But as I said I'm grounded, and I am in a huge rush oto make use of my time. I can get some better ones tomorrow.

There is a chance I can sell the sizes, but it would not be as cheap as OMC's due to fact I pay 7$ for three feet. But what I could do is buy several bunches at a time and sellthe sizes in 1ft increments at something like $11-$12 for the set, but I would need to know if there is enough demand.

And my darts do have a horrible fit in CPVC, so that is probably the reason I might be able to get better ranges with this set-up.

Thanks for the comments so far.

EDIT: I don't think there is enough force for the PETG to shatter, as I silenced the plunger head with tolet gasket thinger.

You finally got it up and running, good to see. I saw your PETG breeched BBBB at Massacre2 and was pretty intrigued... The only worry I would have is that the PETG would bend under the stress of pushing back the spring.
Anyway, I would gladly purchase some off you, if I could get my hands on a LS...
Nice job.

Well, outside, the blaster didn't perform to well. Here are the ranges...

62'
67'
42'
57'
56'
63'

When I were to shoot, the dart would leave the barrel with much velocity, then about 10-15' into the flight path, it would curve straight up then curve straight down. I am not sure why this is happening, but I can guess it's because of the 9" barrel. When I first put it together , I used a 12" peice, but my hot glue gun was over heating so when I inserted the PETG into the faux barrel, it bent. I then stuck in a wooden dowel that has a tightish fit and left it in boilling water for a few minutes, but then I couldn't get it out. The only other peice I had was a 9" peice so I figured that should do... I was wrong.

Anyone else have any other theories as to what might be the problem? I am using a Recon/LS spring combo with two O-Rings.

As for me selling the breeches, I would like to know if they are comparable to the brass variation first, and once I get that solved, I will try to find the cheapest way of accomplishing this.

EDIT: Grammar mistakes...

EDIT2: Better pictures will be up as soon as I figure out the problem.

That's a pretty awesome mod. Those ranges are good enough for me because I play all my wars inside. Is this anymore durable than brass? Because from what I hear brass can bend very easily.

I think you need more weight on your darts.

You need more spring in your plunger too. Adding a recon spring to an LS is like dry humping your girlfriend. It's better than nothing, but isn't really what you're after.

On a related note, I was able to use these same sizes of tubing (I'm planning on doing this breech to my LS as well) to build a variable barrel length Rapid Fire Shotgun turret. Short barrels for the kids, long barrels for wars. Just add 5/8" PETG stubs to the front and rear of the original barrels. I'll post up pictures soon.

Pictures will be updated soon, don't worry. I fixed the aweful range problem, with a BBB spring. Currently there is only a BBB spring and the double O-Ring.

After around 30seconds, there is no need to watch the rest, as I actually broke the set-up(I hope not to mislead you on the reliability though, it was purely my fault, and I used no glue to hole the 5/8 together with the 9/16 and 1/2). It is now fixed and consistently hits the 95' mark, which is very impressive.

As there seems to be enough demand for the PETG I will go out ASAP to buy the material. It will be $11+shipping and you wil be given 1ft of each of the following sizes-9/16, 1/2, 5/8. I know that Angel uses four sizes, but since I didn't dig deeply into his write-up I only used three. I will post a new thread for the sale within the next week. Any question?
