A lot of people have a Manta Ray sitting around somewhere. This is a simple mod that will improve its range and let you use taggers (and probably most Stefans) instead of Megas. And if you don't like this mod it is extremely simple to reverse.
The things you'll need are:
3 1/2 inch CPVC
An old mega dart
Duct tape or any other good tape
The Manta Ray (Duh)

So these are the internals of the unique Manta Ray, for this mod you don't need to open the gun but for those of you who are curious, use this picture as a referance if all of the pieces fall out of your gun.
(I hope these photos work)

First take the mega dart and cut off 2 inches from the end opposite the head. Then take the three and a half inch CPVC and tape it to the mega dart.

It should look like this...

All you have to do is jam it down the barrel...

Then either put tape on top to keep it in place better or use hot glue for a more permanent way to keep the barrel in. It should look something like this...

Just do this with all four barrels and thats it

Range test (All with stock taggers)

One side shot twice:
38 feet
41 feet
43 feet
47 feet

the other side shot twice
41 feet
41 feet
43 feet
44 feet

Average for all shots: 42.25 feet

Pretty good ranges because when it was unmodded it only went like 15 feet.
Any questions, comments, and hopefully not critisizms... :D

Funny I see this mod right after getting a Manta just yesterday. I was planning on CPVCing it, but I noticed that CPVC doesn't go all the way back in the barrel. I like your solution to that problem, by using a mega dart. Mine has a little bit of shell damage on the actual shield part, but it shoots fine, so I'm okay with it. Here's what I mean:

I just took this picture right when I saw this mod. Yeah, I'm that fast.

So it's an even lazier version of a Lazyman mod? Wouldn't the mega constrict the air more than not pushing the cpvc all the way down?

I like it. I may do this with my manta when it gets here, I will see how much range I get with the PETG installed. I think with some glue, a spring replacement, and some etape and lube this thing could reach 80ft. I don't see the point of ripping the internals out and integrating shit into the shell. It can be done without that, and have 4 80ft shots on it. Great gun in my book.
EDIT: DAMN. You were using taggers too. Add 10ft for using well made stefans!

It's just screaming to be rearloading...

I seen a movie about that once.

The problem was that the CPVC didn't go as far back so the mega dart helps a lot. If you do this mod I will warn you that I don't know how long the mega dart inside will last...you might need to replace it after a while or something...so dont glue the barrels in permanently, just tape them down
Anyway thanks for liking my idea!
