So I've been looking around as we plan on building ourselves real primary weapons. But I've hit one roadblock. What are the differences between the At2k and the At3k? I know the 2k has a 4 shot clip and the 3k has a 6 shot, but what else is different? Please don't just call me a noob.
Some of you should consider collaborating and improving the Nerf wiki. There's only like 11 articles and none on the at#k series... And no pics... VACC's nightmare...
Thanks,

First of all the tank sizes are different the 2k has a smaller tank. Second you have to manually rotate the turret on the 2k whereas the 3k has a rotating mech. That is about it other than the location of the pumps.

2ks are smaller, simpler, and get better ranges, for the most part. 3ks can also be quite good, but they require a bit more modding, and their pumps suck. Tanks are almost identical. If you're new enough to not know the difference, go with the 2k. 3k turrets hold 6 rounds, by the way. And you can look stuff up via the nerfWiki.

The 2k does get better ranges, but the tank is smaller, I think this is because thr tank wall is thicker than that of a 3ks, thus getting better ranges.

This makes absolutely no sense. What does wall thickness have to do with range? If I put more plastic around my tank, will it shoot further?

The main reason 2K's get better range is turret seal and air pressure. The slide pump makes it difficult to get the same amount of pressure in the tank as is easily attainable via the 2K pump.

Some of you should consider collaborating and creating an official Nerf gun history section, to help make little details like these more accesible.

Main diff is the At3k has an 6 shot auto advancing turret.
The 2K manually advancing 4 shot.

Tanks are roughly the same size.

but because of all the extra hardware to make the auto advancing turret work the 2K is easier to work with while modding.
And the rear turret seal can be easily modified to be more efficient.
IMO I prefer the pump on the 3K over the 2K because it is placed in a much better out of the way of the actual turret. This is a big deal if you have man hands. If you have dainty little girl hands it makes less diff.

The 3K takes less pumps also since the actual pump is much larger as well. I'd almost say its about 2X the volume. 2-3 pumps is all you really need.

If you're wondering the At4K also has the same tank as the others. the only diff there is it is a 12 shot self advancing turret.

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.

Blacksunshine, you are mostly right everywhere except the tanks. The 2K has a smaller tank, but a bigger dump valve than the 3K. The reason the 2K shoots farther is because the 2K releases the air much faster. The perfect AT#K mod would be a Titan pump with a AT2K tank. Other than that, Blacksunshine hit the nail on the head. Not to be an ass, but wasn't there a thread about this a whle ago?
