I cut the plunger, ran a piece of 1/2in dowel rod down the middle of the hollow plunger rod and positioned a small piece to allow the rotation mech to slide...

the rod down the middle of the plunger plugs the pump, allows about 2in more plunger travel and puts the pump in a nicer place to use...

I suggest a fiberglass rod or anything but wood but it does work...

cool. I would suggest a barrel replacement. Then you should post ranges and such. Is the pump plugged? because if it is, you could make it a 2 pump and get better ranges out of it.

He specifically said that he has not replaced the barrels "yet", which implies that he intends to. He also explained that the wodden rod plugs the pump. Read a little before posting.

In fact this has been done at least three separate times before. I did one a couple months back and some one posted yet another example of it being done.
