Alrighty guys here ya go. It's pretty simple really, the basic air restrictor removal/barrel replacement/size reduction mod. It's somewhat like Raggy's mod except I drilled a hole in the plunger cap where he said he didn't, and I used cpvc instead of brass or petg. I'm happy to report really good ranges for this gun, the same as my lock n loads! (60-70 ft at least)

Posted Image

I also built a "quick-draw" holster for either this gun or my lock n loads (it fits either gun) It's made out of a water bottle holder thing that was like a belt, with another football belt attached to it. One strap goes around my waist, and the other around my leg, which lets the holster sit securely lower on my leg than a normal belt clip, which makes it easier to draw the gun quickly. Look at the pics and you'll see what I mean. And yes, those are the NF ammo holders taped to the holster.

Maybe I will, black-wrath. I'd have to find some more of the parts around my house or go to the store and then I'll get some prices for materials. Anyways PM me if you really want one

I hate the stock darts both of mine came with. the swerve left and right making it hard for me to hit my grandma's cat. it's ok their not modded yet. but I'm getting around to it. anyways if you look in the holsters topic at the pics i posted i finally made a holster like that especially for these two guns so i can go dualie.

Personaly I thought that the NF didn't need a holster, but that one is nice. I use just my pockets. Now I do have a cut down .45 holster that I used for my SF that I liked.

Putting a cpvc barrel n a spring pistol destroys the whole purpose of it. Spring pistols are meant to have low range, but high rof. Now it has low range, and low rof. Its a nice gun, but save the ramrod for the rifles. Also, why did you cut down the case? The NF is already a surprisingly small gun.

BTW what mods has everyone done to their Nitfinder? I Just brassed mine today. Whats mods did others do. Im hoping im the first to telescopic brass it

I can't believe you didn't see by the pic of his holster (with gun in it) showed that he cut it down so it would fit. but I'm going to make both my NFs smaller than his once I um get a barrel. probably a crayola (hey it's the only thing i have and both are probably side arms for me.

I modded mine with a crayola. You do the same mod on this site, except instead of petg use crayola. It gets around 50 ft.

It gets that range with stefans, I just used stock darts for the pics cuz thats what I had with me at the time. It only gets about 50 with stock darts, and less accuracy.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and THIRST, you don't always have to push the darts all the way down, it gets good enough range if you just push them in with your pinky (I sanded down the inside edge of the barrel so you can push em in kinda far) However if you have time you can shove them all the way down if you want.

Both my NF's have their cases cut down greatly. I got rid of all the air restricters and instead duct taped a 3/4 to 1/2 inch reducer to the plunger tube. Then I put 4 inches of brass (9/16 with 1/2 of 17/32 to keep the dart from getting sucked into the plunger tube.) into 4 inches of PVC. I don't breach so I taped it all together. I'm getting 55-60 with both of them.

All i've done is brass mod mine, no telescoping. I just want an easy to load pistol and dont want to have to worry about screwing on my barrel. I also cut off the amo holders. I want it as small as possible

Wow, you did the same exact mod as me, even with the electrical tape around the barrel! I made a holster too, out of this silver insulation stuff that looks sorta like bubble wrap. Your holster is much better though.

Yeah I love the socom it's a bit heavy though. Thats why I like th NF.

I would really want a nerf gun to look like a desert eagle that would rock. I just had an idea has anyone tryed putting a mini maglite in the NF where the laser was? That would be even more awsome. I want a NF even more now. Too bad Aus might not stock them  .

I guess I'm not sure what the point of telescoping brass is. Could someone explain it to me?

Since spring guns output a large amount of air slowly(unlike air guns which puts out air fast) you want the dart to get the full blast of the air. You need the dart to build up air pressure, by the time all the air is released. The telescopic brass is to prevent the dart from leaving the barrel before building up sufficient pressure.

Telescopic brass is when the brass size starts out smaller(where the dart is) and gets bigger with different sizes of brass. Usually, it starts out at 17/32 and then gets bigger with 9/16. Some people also nest 1/2 into the 17/32 to prevent the dart from going into the barrel.

Since cpvc is a very tight fit, it works mucht the same way, except without getting bigegr, which is whyit is also a very good choice on guns such as a TTG or an NF. If you do the mod correctly, cpvc gets the same ranges as brass, without having to blow the dart down the barrel, just push it in with your finger. With cpvc, you can ram the dart down the barrel to get better good velocity, and about 10 feet more range.

To sum it up, if you have extra time, and want a far shooting pistol, use cpvc and a ramrod. If you just want a fast shooting pistol, use nested brass, brass,or cpvc.

Hope that clears it up for you Nerfer16.
