It's just a prototype, the next one will have a real frame. But this one works like a dream, for being a plank of wood with a screen door closer strapped to it.

Why is it on the plank?
I'm just the scitzophrenic clusterfuck of randomness that is me.

Because he is in the process of making a shell... That was a lie, planks are the most comfortable shell ever... in the history of man...

Something I forgot to mention in the article: I would rather have used a flat 1" endcap, but Home Depot had the round kind, and if memory servers, so does Lowes. Does anyone know of a store that carries the flat kind?

I know that my Ace has flat 1/2" CPVC endcaps, I'm not sure about 1" PVC though. I think the brand Ace carries is Genova, if that helps at all.

Nevermind, that's just for CPVC.

My True Value usually has flat end caps.

Looks good. Those things are a bitch to get open, but they have amazing springs. Can't wait to see the finished product.

That's pretty freaking hard core!

Scaled down, it essentially looks like a crossbow.
When the epoxy dries, could you tell us how hard is it to prime it with the board next to the handle?

Worth a new blog post? Sure. Worth a new thread? Probably not.
