Wow, 10 years.......I'm fucking old

Sheesh, kids these days ...

Anyway, this is highly preliminary - but I'm going to plan an attempt. If my plan comes together, and that's still a GREAT BIG IF, then I would probably rent a van or minivan. We're talking about six hours of driving from San Jose, so I'd want to recruit at least two other licensed adult drivers.

IF this plan comes together, I hope we will be able to find crash-space for both Friday and Saturday nights, including a shower (in July we can put up with cold water if we have to), so that we can make the start on time and fresh, rather than late, or right after spending hours on the road.

IF the ride doesn't fill up with adults first, then for anyone under 18 to join this "crew" there would need to be a meeting ahead of time, and an explicit understanding between you, your parents, and all the adults traveling, that you won't require adult supervision. We will be your nerfing friends, not stand-in parents. I might be the oldest current participant in the NIC, but that doesn't mean I'm not still a kid, too. (but a kid who knows enough to stay far away from liability and other legal headaches)

As I've said, this is all still very preliminary - it probably won't even happen, I'm just going to try. So don't anyone PM me about joining in yet. (exception: anyone from the host area with offers or suggestions of support and/or space). Also feel free to ask me about joining in, if we meet in person, whether nerfing or otherwise, over the coming weeks/months. I'll post again to this topic or to a fresh one if and when it actually starts to come together.

Or how bout a loan of some type, like someone could pay for anothers ticket, and then pay him back in increments every month.

I really don't mean to publicly humiliate you but... Yes! Let's go give strangers on the internet under the table loans!

I'm a very likely maybe now...

Because of the time of notice, I should be able to go to this. This is the war I've been waiting for. Hope I can make it.

I'll be there for sure. Matt(If you guys remember him) will be staying at my house in the summer, and he's been nagging me for him to go. And Chris will come too.

I'm a "probably". I currently don't really plan my life out this far in advance.

I'll take care of you.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

'Twould be awesome to have you! If you need housing, let me know. I've already made arrangements, and can handle about eight of you guys, and a fellow clanmate (Sasquatch) has volunteered to take care of a few more if need be.

Was it the welcoming smile? No, that can't be it...
It was the chainsaw, wasn't it? Dangit...I knew it. Too much? Yeah, I guess so...

Spoon always promised me his bed if I came out again. However, with the fiance and all, well...3's a much less comfortable fit. You know, he should really just go back to being called Ryan if he's gonna refuse to act out his alias with me. This is bullshit!

Since we have 6 months notice, team supernova should be there. Hopefully we will have some friends in that area, that will be willing to let us crash at their place so other people with no contacts can stay with the hosts if thats the plan. Bob, redmark and people that might want to go from around our area pm me about car pooling. Other then that hopefully we will be providing some good play and a few girls in the mix for this war.

If people don't mind the floor, I could probably take maybe 3? Maybe more if maybe I stayed downstairs.....anyways, lemme know if more housing is needed.

The planets are in alignment...I think I can make the trip this year. It's a matter of ironing out details (like if the rest of the family is gonna come and make a vacation of it), but it looks like a pretty certain thing. W00t!

As with last year, if anyone desires to use a +Bow, they will be acceptable. Also, on those lines, I'll be allowing CARBON to use a snap, but that will be the extent of the homemades allowed for the year.

Attendance list is up on the front page. I'm not making a maybes list. If you've said you might come, you're there. If you say later that you can't, I'll take you off.

Dude. We don't talk. Like - at all.

Heck I may be out of town. Not too sure yet though. But I can't say much on this one till it draws closer. But I can say if I do come I may bring some new/old heat with me. And I'm not talking guns.

I'm getting a pretty decent tax refund this year, so financially, it looks like less of a problem for me. The only variable is my class schedule, and I won't know that for some time. I'm a strong maybe at this point though.

I would rather post some modding stuff for my first post, but i needed to say this.

On topic: I should be able to (as my first war) but with my sister's soccer schedule coming out two weeks in advance, I wont know for sure. I'll edit this post if I need too.

P.s. I could be bringing more than one person with me.....

I'd recomend you get a small war or two under your belt before July. I'm sure new nerfers are more than welcome, but no one is going to have the time to really walk you through this thing. This war is about halfway through the really busy nerf season, so another local war or just a small skirmish with friends shouldn't be that hard to come by.

At least, that's my advice.

Ok, thanks, by "first war" I meant first NIC oriented war. But if you count me shooting a modded TTG at people from forty feet away while they are trying to reload either a Stock Longshot or Maverick as a small skirmish with friends, it will be a little hard to get some decent practice.
Either way, thanks for the advice.

You're just a little south of Irvine. We have a few nerfers who come up from Irvine regularly, and they WILL be for LANO...TOMORROW!

It's up here on the Azusa/Glendora Border...about a 45 minute drive at the speed limit. Try and see if you can make it on up! Also, if you're unable to make tomorrow, every two-four months, we try to pull together an event in Santa Ana/Orange County which usually ends up at a school in Irvine...so keep your eyes open for a "Nano".

PM me your email address and I'll get you connected!

So I need a bit of info. I'm guessing LAX is the closest airport. I'm seeing $290 after taxes and fees round trip per person, which is honestly not that bad. That's a week long trip though, which is what I would kind of want to do. Now, your state is enormous. I get that. But how bad would the drive to the beach be? And how much stuff would there be to do. Trying to convince a hottie friend of mine to come, so this could be crucial stuff hah.

I think the Ontario Airport is closer but they are both not to far. Where the war will be is about in the middle of the two. From Glendora to the beach is about an hour depending on traffic. I live in Huntington Beach and to get to the war it takes about 45 min. To get to the beach, it is a five min walk.
There is also a lot of stuff to do around the area. There is Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and Raging Waters. They are all pretty fun places but Disneyland is expensive.

To be honest that picture of last LANO you guys had, SCARES ME. Seriously it'll turn out like that Armageddon where we sent spoon off with all the little kids...

Hey, maybe that explains why we see so little of spoon now.
