Alright, I am new here for one and this is my first post so please correct me on any errors I will most likely make.
I being a cowardly kind of person am a bit confused on Keef's LS AR removal. All I would like is for someone to put a picture or something up to show where exactly I should cut (pipe cutters, Yes I am using them) the barrel to remove the longshot's hefty AR's.
Now, mind you I am no total virgin to modding nerf. I would just like to reassure myself here as I would not like to ruin my 36$ new toy (Damn TRU is expensive).

-Thanks for all the help, Cowardly Moron

Edit-I think i'm all set! Thanks for all the help guys!

$36 for a LS is not expensive, well not for me anyways, as the LS' here cost slightly over $60 with taxes. As for your question, I'm pretty sure Keef does show a picture of what he does(in his write-up). What I did was heat the area with a stove, then I pulled. That will get it off. But since you already have your mind set on cutting, I'm not going to convince you to do something else. Besides, Keef's way is a lot cleaner.

P.S. Sorry for my rambling, I'm tired.

EDIT: Your post is wonderful compared to just about all the other members that have registered withing the last few weeks.

I know he has pictures in his writeup its just that when he got to the cut anywhere between the two lines part, that lost me. 60$ for a LS is insane! Usually up here in Minnesota, LS's are about 30$ here. Thank you for the compliment. I have seen many a noob on this site getting flamed up the ass for grammer.

I cut around 0.25 inches to the left. Be sure that you don't cut it too deeply, there is not very much to cut through.

Do you mean to the left of the deep groove/Line or whatever?

Yes. I used pliers to break the tabs on the back and hammer out the peg(the tabs on the back of the bolt, once they are broken the AR will fall out). But I have 5 LSs(all relatives had same idea for Xmas) so when I did this to LS #2 I used pipe cutters on the line. The glue popped, and the AR fell out. And use a screwdriver to drive the peg out. Glue the pieces together again(I used epoxy) and voila, no more ARs.

And Ballard,

I assume when you say on the line you mean the deep line (look at keef's mod) ?

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.

In Keef's picture, there are two grooves, one that is actually on a stock Longshot, and one that he cut in order to get the AR out. Cut about where HIS deep groove it, and that should solve your problem.

Actually, I cut the stock groove, but if you could cut your own groove and it would work too.
