So I've opened up my doomsayer-to-be (hopefully) and I can't get the rubber plunger head back on. Getting it off was pretty easy but back on is impossible!
I was just seeing if you guys had any tips to help.

edit- 1 more question. Do you guys think that brass would be to heavy to use as barrelling (sp?) material? I saw that a guy did it with PVC but I was worried about how long that would last.

Dude, if you use brass it will cost a lot more than it should, then you would must likely want to nest it for protection from the tarnish monsters. So you would then have 24' of tubing on the end of your weapon.

Good point, hadn't thought of that.

Get a hair dryer and set it to high put the peice under it for like 5-10 min. then try.

Does that work better than boiling water? I've been trying that method with bad results.

It worked great for me.

To get the plunger head back on, make several slits perpendicular to the hole and push it on. In other words, make the hole look like a pushnut fastener, kind of, or an asterisk( * ). Then once it's on, pour plumbing Goop in the center like you regularly would. This makes sure it never comes off, as well as improving the seal. glue under the plunger head too, if necessary. There you go.

Do you mean like cut straight through it and then glue it together?

No, just cut a several, say 6, 3-millimeter-or-so-long slits around the hole that the plunger rod goes into, then glue it down and fill the top with glue, too.

Not just PVC. SCH80 PVC - the thick, heavy-ass stuff. And I asure you it is built to last, although very front heavy. Brass will work fine - it will definitely not be too heavy (unless you nest it), but it will be very expensive. The best barrel material for Doomsayers is still PETG.
