EDIT: You also have to take into account that the board's software also counts guest users, still have to think what caused so many guests to flock to the forums, but the number of registered users that were online was alot lower.

I believe that was the day Forsaken_Angel's lancer modification was featured on a different website. If I remember correctly, it was large gaming website(or something along those lines) which caused many users from there to follow a link to our humble haven.

Or someone could have attempted a Denial Of Service attack on the Haven. Usually a large group like that is not generated by live users - aka search engine indexing. You can tell if it's that depending on what bots are set as, they're sometimes declared [googlebot] or sometimes just appear as guests [a big list of guests]. DOS attempts here would be rare, I'd assume the Haven is well protected.

A DOS attack hits one singular IP address not a whole community. My guess is that OMC revealed the Vulcan EBF-25.

I don't think OMC ever gave us any information on the Vulcan, just the Recon.
