So I had an idea last night that I could make a strikefire(crossfire) cock like a tech target. I also replaced the barrel with cpvc and minimized it.

Materials:
a strikefire/crossfire
hot glue gun
e-tape
1/2 cpvc
the aimer from the ls
putty
a nail or a thin metal rod

Here are all the materials.(minus the hot glue gun and the nail)
Posted Image

So first open the gun (duh) and take out the barrel and plunger thingy. Cut a piece of cpvc a few inches longer than the plunger tube.
Posted Image

Then wrap one end of the cpvc in e-tape until it fits well. Then lube the e-tape and the inside of the plunger tube.

Then take your ls aimer thing and cut it so it looks like this.
Posted Image

Now drill a hole in the bck of the gun. This will be for the new cocking mechanism.
Posted Image

Now you are going to hot glue the nail, plunger tube, and aimer like this. But don't forget to put your spring on first.
Posted Image

Put your gun back togeather, use your putty to get the barrel to stay in the gun, and you're done!
Posted Image

Mine has almost no sound when fired. I gets pretty good ranges from what I've seen when i shoot it down my hall. I don't have official ranges yet but I'll get them soon. I'll also have a vidoe up soon.
Also to minimize it just us a hacksaw and just chop the ammo holder off.

Screw seems like a terrible choice for this modification.

I know I started out with a screw and changed it to a nail. You can also just use a metal rod and cut it to the size.

It look's sweet. The aimer from the LS looks fine. but does it hurt the finder when you pull it back. I would probably wrap some E-tape where you pull it with the finger just to add more comfortablilty

Well next time lets try to keep titles like that to things that deserve it. Not to say its a bad mod, but still.

I did something similar recently, yours is easier to do though.

Here is a video of my method: http://www.youtube.c...re=channel_page

If it not clear what I did I would be happy to explain further.

Ya I've seen your video before and I just want to know how you got it to retract like that. If you have a write-up on it just give me a link and that would be great but if not just explain it.
Thanks,

The title of this thread is very deceiving. I was thinking it was going to be something really cool, not a crossfire. No offense dude, but I'd just get a Nf. The spring is not strong enough to propel that nail forward very fast, so ranges must not be very good.

The wire is an elongated "U" shape, there are 2 holes in the back and it hooks onto the nub that the original cocking bar caught on. To make it retract I just hooked the "U" through the slide retractor spring. The part that sticks out is a glob of epoxy putty with the ends of the wire in it. Although, I guess the wire is more like a thin metal rod.

You probably could if you drill a hole in the aimer thing, and stick onto the mav rod and reinforce. But, you probably need 2 aimer pieces and something to connect them together. Oh, and, please don't post in old topics. I know this is not a necro because it was only from Dec 29, but, it still is a week old.
