I'm a noob who realy wanted a RF20 - I bid on ebay and won one new in the box. Its being shipped now.

Thing is this - I have heard ALOT of crap about how the wildfire would blow air tanks and the plunger rod would snap and junk like that.

The RF20 I'm paying $35 bucks for dosent have alot of lousy, cheap-ass problems like this, does it?

No it's a much better gun then the wildfire. My wildfire broke :P because of a crackin the plunger. you'll find that the RF is a reliable gun. paying 35 dollars for it that was way to much.you can get them on ebay for 25( inculding shipping) what ever enjoy your new nerf gun :D

You won't have a problem as long as you don't try to mod it.

People have problems with the piston breaking after trying to internally mod it. Stick with removing air restrictors from the barrels if possible, this gun shouldn't be tampered with.

Good luck.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

Yeah I know I paid WAY too much for it. I originaly bid like 20.00 bucks, but some other dude tried to get it. The seller said he'd throw in extra ammo if it went over 30.00 so I was like wth. So bone stock, it realy should'nt screw up on me eh?

...I would like to know about removing those evil air restrictors.

Uh, yeah...you can actually buy Rapid Fire 20s at Toys 'R' Us, brand new, for $14.99. If you were still willing to pay $35, you could still buy thirty micro darts.

60 darts if you buy direct from hasbro.

It was discontinued, but then was re-released as a Toys 'R Us exclusive in a new box with the new logo. It was sold for $14.95 and was released with the Atom Blasters line. If I'm thinking right though, it has been discontinued again, or at least my TRU doesn't stock them anymore.

Okay...

I'm curious - what do you guys think of this gun. I know it's probobly not real popular with serious nerfers...but all that aside, is it pretty dope for just goofing around with?

It's an excellent gun for fooling around with and generally scaring the shit out of people. It's loud as hell and unloads an impressive cloud of foam.

As far as `serious' nerf goes, there are always one or two of them at the wars I attend. They're great for close-range combat or for base defense in CTF-style wars.

Hell yeah. That gun rocks just for shooting your friends to get them out of your video game playing chair. I think it's a great weapon to just mess around with. You don't have to pump it as much as the Wildfire which is very nice, although you don't get a strap to wear either. <_<

The sound it makes when its full auto is awesome. Someone needs to make a soundtrack just for it. To bad Nello broke his RF20, I loved that sound.

I bought an RF20 last week. I was kind of disappointed about a few things. The pump doesn't lock into the gun like in the wildfire...if you tilt the gun forward, the pump slides out. Also, just in general, the plastic it is made out of seems cheap and not very sturdy compared to the wildfire. The pump is wobbly plastic it seems to me. In general, not having a full outer case makes the gun creak and bend in your hands more than it should imo. Has anyone else noticed this stuff?
