Has anyone seen Nerf darts that have a different construction than normal?

I ask this because I've just acquired an Iron Man branded Firefly REV-8, and the darts have a different construction. More visible after it failed when fired from another gun

Failed like this

Once split, this is the head on that dart

and a comparison of the post hole at the back. from left to right is Streamline, Firefly's Suction darts, hornet's suction darts.

Finally, and this is purely subjective, the grey firefly darts don't seems to get as much distance as the orange Hornet darts. Nor have the same suction power either. And that's been tested on the Firefly, the hornet, and some chalk tipped dart gun i bought with them.

Anyone else seen this from Nerf?

I've heard about those crappy darts coming with the Australian Iron Man fireflies. I don't know what they were thinking when they made those darts, but the design clearly sucks.

The Star Wars blasters come with the orange versions of those. Awfully heavy. Use stefans instead. :)

I have had the same darts in my nitefinder although they were orange, absolutely terrible range .

i've just taken the ARs out of my firefly, and it's clear that the firefly darts have decidely worse performance than the standard darts. just seriously substandard...

really not happy, especially with the dearth of reloads available in Australia. On the upside, the Firefly's not bad

Yeah ... but the good news is - you found a Pistol Splat, somewhere Down Under.

I take it that this "pistol splat" is some chalk tipped dart gun? cause that's EVERYWHERE down here.

quite a powerful one out of the box.
