Hello, I picked up a big bad bow a few months ago and have done various mods to it
Barrel Replacement (unisex coupler)
Spring additions ( Recon and Nitefinder )
Plungerhead reinforcements ( with washers )
Dead space eliminated
A R removal

The coupler kept falling off of the front of the BBB so I decided to Plumbers goop it on using a plumbers goop specifically for PVC. I waited for it to dry and it dried solid and it was sturdy. I tried to fire the gun and the darts didn't go neaerly as far with the same velocity as they did before ( I was hitting 90+ft ). So I tried different barrel materials and different stefans and I couldn't get the velocity back, I opened up the gun to see if anything was wrong and none of the sort, everything seemed in perfect working order.

Any ideas? The range has dropped from 90ft flat to 60ft flat.

Hopefully I described well enough, if any pictures are needed I can get in there and take em.

Thanks in Advance!

Since you're too young to get a hotel, you should look around, maybe check some aim chatrooms.
Theres alot of really friendly, nice people out there, that'd be more than willing to accomodate a young boy.

Well usually I wouldn't attach a coupler to the end, I would nest a small piece of CPVC in the front orange piece so a little bit sticks out of the front then attach a CPVC coupler to that with PVC cement. This ensures a good seal. It is similar to Josey's "Big Bad Sexy" but without the full barrel, just a tiny bit with a coupler attached to it.

For your current set-up it might just be a seal problem. There might be too much resistance on the plunger head as well.

Could there be a crack in the plunger tube?

Were the springs stretched if so they can shrink over time and ranges can decreas. Also was it warm when you first range tested it if so the cold can have a pat in this range drop. Also changing barrel length could have played a part if you did change it.

Okay well I didn't check the plunger tube should've, but i didn't. I would've done that thing you explained ( A Side Of Nerf ) but you see there is already a small piece of cpvc inside the tube. I thought of that. And no I didn't stretch my springs, I don't do that.

Ill check the plunger tube.

It is cold but just judging inside in a 40ft hallway the velocity has decreased greatly.

Try blowing down the barrel when its cocked, no not when its loaded (i am not that evil). But if there is no resistance, it may mean that there is a problem with the o-ring (being too dry or cracked). This may be due to it being left out of the plunger tube for extended periods of time. This happened to me, so this may be the problem. I hope I helped. Good luck!

It is a big bad bow so it doesn't have an o ring. But it does have a piece that did become dry. May seem stupid but I tried lubing it with vaseline. xD Anyways if thats the case do i need to go buy a special lubricant.

Silicon lubricant is well worth buying. Makes me harken back to days of yore, with my tiny dish of vegetable oil... And for the record, blowing down the barrel is THE way to test a springer's seal.

If you did use vaseline, The plunger head is probably mangled beyond repair, as petroleum based lubricants eat away at rubber. I have an extra BBB plunger head lying somewhere, Ill bring it to massacre 2 if I end up going.
