Brass is better than PVC only because it's much more likely to correctly fit your darts - particularly if you're using half inch `micro' stefans which don't tend to fit properly in PVC/CPVC/copper. The reason brass fits so well is because it's available in 1/32" diameter increments.

Ace has K&S brand?
Um, I don't know what brand it is but it's a good brand. (never heard anything about crappy brass) Ace has all kinds of sizes like 1/2, 3/8, 1/4, and a bunch of smaller ones. There is about ten different sizes at my Ace.

OSH and Lowes carry Steelworks which is double the wall thickness and not cut quite as nicely. The main problem with this stuff is that you have to go up 1/16" if you want to nest/telescope different sizes.

Except for the fact that PETG isn't commonly available...Steelworks is also more expensive. I'd recommend PETG for pretty much all air guns.

So what you are saying is that you'd recommend PETG for all nerf guns run on air? That is a pretty wide range of guns. Hehehe. I'm just fuckin with ya. I know what you mean.I'd recommend PETG for pretty much all air guns.

He said cheaper after shipping is included.Good for you, but PETG is cheaper.

No shipping.
Seeing how you are the self proclaimed supplier and god of PETG, it may seem cheap to you, but to people miles away, buying $13 of PETG, then $22 of shipping, it seems like a bad deal. They would be able to buy brass almost three times with no shipping or hidden charges, before they could buy your eight feet of PETG.
Just something to consider.
Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

He sells his PETG for $1.25 a foot, and 8 feet of that would sell for $10. Since this stuff is light, shipping is really reasonable. I have used all sorts of barrel materials, and right now I think that the one with the most bang for tha buck is PETG. Brass is great, especially in spring guns, but you have to buy different sizes if you want to telescope it, adding to the confusion. Plus, depending on how big a chain you get your brass from, it can run anywhere from $2 a foot to $3.50 or so.
As other people have mentioned the ONLY benefit I can imagine brass has over PETG is maybe that you can telescope pieces inside each other. Oh, that and metal will always be cooler looking than clear plastic.

<edit> I sent a check to IR and disguised it as a love note so that the postman wouldn't steal my check, and he was so kind as to reciprocate and mark the package as if it were containing rods of beef jerky or some other consumable love-treat, as opposed to precious, exquisite PETG. Whatta guy. Shipping for my 10'-12' purchase (can't quite recall) was lower than $5, I know.

No it's not. Copper sucks.Brass is really expensive though. I prefer copper.
Yeah...and like I said, I prefer brass as well. It's much easier to work with. With brass, you can telescope, sand, polish, and it's very durable. PETG is very flimsy, can't be sanded without scratching it, and it's not as durable as brass is. Besides, brass actually has a different texture than PETG, and I seem to like the smoothness of it better.
I pick up my brass at local hobby shops for $2 a foot. That's pretty cheap. Hey, it's not 10' of PVC for a buck, but brass is good stuff.
