Hello, I created this topic to see who has been or is still a student at a martial arts academy. I received my black belt May 10, 2008. Also, if any other black belts post here, tell us what date you earned it.

I almost earned my yellow belt, then I realized how many things I could be doing if I weren't at that dark develish place. And is that even possible^^^, since you would have only been 10 or 11 at the time...

I remember being in karate in first grade and kindergarten. It was a long time ago, but I remember doing all these different techniques and other things.

What does saying you're a black belt do if you don't state the system?

I'm not a black belt, but I take American Kenpo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.

I got to purple belt in Kenpo, then I got an orange belt in another school that I switched to because I liked it better. I don't do it anymore, but it was fun.

I do free-form style of martial arts. (if that counts)
I never really had any real training

But this is my uncle, Vaughn Anderson
Currently, He holds one of the best fight records in the asian theater. Plus he is representing Canada

I lubed it again and again, I don't see what an extra 2 centimeters does. I don't think I will cut it off.

Got my black belt in Shorin Ryu Shidokan Karate back in '99 or 2000. Haven't done it in years though. Death (yes Horseman Death), a fellow nerfer who isn't around much, is like a pro MMA fighter or some shit.

4-1? Not sure what his official record is, Sherdog says 2-1, but according to the video it's 4-1. Either way, I'm not sure what you consider the "asian theater," but people like Eddie Alvarez ( 15-1, currently fighting in Dream ), Joachim Hansen ( 19-7, also in Dream ), Gesias Cavalcante ( 14-2, Dream ), Shinya Aoki ( 18-3, Dream ), Takanori Gomi ( 29-4, Sengoku ), Alistair Overeem ( 29-11, not sure what organization he's officially associate with, but he's fought primarily in Japan over the past few years ) have "better" records. Nothing against you uncle, he seems like a decent Jiu Jitsu fighter, just confused about what you mean regarding his record.

He's primarily a Brazilian Jiu Jitzu fighter with some boxing training (I believe, don't quote me on his standup game here). He's really good at getting his junk right up in other dudes' grills, and that's really what Brazilian JiuJitzu is all about, isn't it?

I quit Tae Kwon Do right before making it to blue back in 4th grade for Boy Scouts (best decision I could've made for me at the time) but my clan is loaded with artists. Sage is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and two others, but I can't recall what. Slayer is an actively training MMA fighter at 10th planet in Hollywood, and Panda and Sasquatch have both attended Jiujitsu together and with Slayer. Apollo256 trains in Shinkendo. There are a few others, I'm sure, but we're all masters of MASHOONGA!

I was a senior-red belt (the belt right before black belt) in tae kwon do but then I moved and I decided that senior red was good enough and I didn't feel like starting over again.
