Hi guys

I saw one of
THESE online and thought it was pretty cool. I was thinking, that it could be retro fitted with a lazer pointer and then there would be no more estimating the distance someone is from you. I don't know how long it takes to calculate the distance, however it can measure far more than the distance 99% modified guns can fire. I have looked at the "Scopes" people have made and frankly, they suck because a dart travels in a arch more than a real bullet does. This might solve that problem; if you could measure the distance your primary is accurate at you could tell when the dart's arch is at it maximum, that way increasing your chance for a quick kill  .

Just an Idea you guys would like to kick around seeing as how we have such a lack of modifications at the moment.

Thanks for reading

Cool, does it work better? This one requires using both to get both distances.

$119.

No. A Measuring wheel only will cost you 7 bucks at Harbor Freight.
Cheaper one 1000'.
Digital one 10,000'

How many nerf guns or supplies can you buy with 119 bucks? A lot.

All the laser lets you do is be lazy and not walk it out. But here's the catch. You're going to have to walk to go get the darts anyway.

It's spelled laser not lazer. Also i don't see how this could measure a blasters range easier, the dart is going to be on the ground somewhere and you are relying on a tiny laser to find it and get the range? another thing is that this would have to be held level to the dart so that you don't have any angled range screw-ups. This is a useless idea and over priced for the use, however i could see purpose in a cheap one on something like a plusbow to see how far someone is away from you to determine if you in range or not, but even then your in a nerf war and it is to slow for the fast paced action going on.

Silentsnipe: That is a stud finder/leveler. That is not what I am talking about.

Black sunshine: That is not what I am talking about either. Yes, for measuring distance that works well, I have one. But during a war could you really walk over to someone, rolling that in front of you, stop and say,"90 feet" walk back, load and fire. Yeas it is expensive I just thought that it might be possible to tell distance at the spur of the moment opposed to guessing.

Kyrativ: Sorry for the error, I am not saying that this is flawless, I am saying it is just an idea I had nothing more. Yes it is over priced I know it is thank you captain obvious. And cheap ones weigh a pound and measure 60 ft; In my opinion illogical.

OK. So your intention is to have it so you can get the range of a moving target? While you're playing with your laser to figure out how far I am from you I'm going to close that distance and shoot you.
All of what you mentioned in the first post can be achieved with the measuring wheel and some flags to mark off key distances. During a war is not the time to be playing with overpriced lasers.
I'd say you'd be much better off becoming familiar with the abilities of your blaster before you bring it to the field.

It is a cool concept if you know the mean range and predictability of your darts. Granted it's costly, it could be used in a nerf war, however I don't see it being very practical. For measuring ranges, I don't believe it will be practical. It would rely on the light to reflect back at it. Doing this outside could pose a problem.

That and the price just sucks.

In my post I said it looked like that, but it still did the range thing. RETARD. Just kidding.

Sig-ified. Bitches!

Anyways, the laser system simply isn't as reliable as a good ol' tape measurer.
