Would you guys here at The Haven consider our self's nerdy. I mean come on we make things shoot foam up to 160 feet. Paintball defiantly leaves welts but so do nerf guns. We get welts (sometimes) and use tools that can cut your arms off. I say were pretty cool to make toys into almost weapons. That's pretty bitchen'.

This thread was wrong from the start. How about we all try to NOT sound like semi-militant otaku loners with veiled sadomasochistic tendencies? Fortunately, this does not seem to be the case, but posts like this make the rest of us look bad. Nerfing should be a part of one's well-rounded existence, not an excuse to pretend you're hurting people. And for the record, I'm with Slug and Angel on this one.

I have to agree with Slug here.

Dictionary.com gives two definitions.

1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.

1. Definitely doesn't work for me because I am intelligent, people love being around me, I am highly effectual and a very handsome devil.

2. I am definitely not single minded and Nerf is in no way an antisocial event.

So would I say that I am a Nerd?
Of course not.

Besides, fuck labels. They are brief and false advertisements.

Personally, I think Nerfers are geeks not nerds.
When I hear the word "nerd," I think of short, unattractive, and puny guys with glasses, shorts that reveal the knee, and a bad overbite.
When I hear "geek," I think of who people who are really into a certain thing. Be it, Nerf, cars, Paintball, Airsoft, drawing, computer games, video games, cooking, etc.

nerds=not very social, is there a word of that?
My friend is a total geek when it comes to Halo, yet he is very fit, in JROTC, and can totally kick my ass. That's a geek.
There's this guy in my P.E. He's very scrawny, has a bad overbite, he has this very disgusting yellow fluid oozing out his ear, he carries a little bag similar to a fanny pack wherever he goes, and he talks like he doesn't have a nose. That's a nerd.
