Would you guys here at The Haven consider our self's nerdy. I mean come on we make things shoot foam up to 160 feet. Paintball defiantly leaves welts but so do nerf guns. We get welts (sometimes) and use tools that can cut your arms off. I say were pretty cool to make toys into almost weapons. That's pretty bitchen'.

Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

Call me nerdy, see if I care.

This is a diverse community, some of us are nerds, some of us aren't, and some of us just don't give a damn. I happen to be part of the group that I like to call nfdsacndosafehycxzCxfnsljkfngdslakg, so yeah, we pretty much don't give a damn.

I give this topic 5 more minutes before it closes.

Edit: For future retardness, Bitchin is spelled B-I-T-C-H-I-N not B-I-T-C-H-E-N.

Let's just get VACC in here so he can make tongue and cheek comments about touching talio, and then close this thread.

Edit 2: VACC needs to write for MAD.

I'm a nerd, what another nerdy activity to add to the list?
  • Programming.
  • Building computers.
  • Warhammer 40k and related table top games.
  • DnD

I would consider myself a nerd, I can name a good sized amount of the guns I have seen and the internals of the vast amount my friends and I use. The only problem I have with names is the confusion that comes with look-a-likes.

Well, I'll say It depends on the person. Everyone is a nerd about something, whether they show it or not is the question. Me? I'm a lazy, quite, violent bastard. In yet, I know how build planes, bombs, and other assorted goodness. To put it the way friend said it, "I'm not a nerd, I just know shit"

Not really. Nerfing is probably the only "Nerdy" thing I do. I don't think it is nerdy, but some (most) people who do not nerf would think it is. Other things I do:
Hockey
Scouts
COD WAW.
I don't think most of the people I met at HbH were nerdy at all. FA_24 is a body builder type, Tank Rat has a lot of piercings/tatoos, dumpster seemed like the track/running type. No, In general, I do not believe that nerfers are nerdy.

Well... to some people, Nerf is a Sport, A hobby, A Talent, Ideas, Gifts, Entertainment, Education, Physics, And something to do just to get away from it all... so I dont think were nerdy... nerf is just something we all do in our spare time, and have them to be shown off at wars... as for wars thats the sport, nerds stay inside and play video games haha xD (not really.. depends on how you see what a nerd is) Nerf is every single one of those so dont let people take you down for something you like

No, not nerdy. But your post does prove the nerfers are outside of most social norms.

Does it matter all that much? Being a nerd in most cases is something that should be a badge of honor, not shame. Nerds are the ones who created the modern wonders such as video games, cars, nerf guns, computers, and electronics. Without nerdyness we would be in the stone age. Look at most famous and rich people (other than athletes) like businessmen, computer programmers, musicians, coaches (exception to the athlete rule), they are all nerds (each in their own way) who made a living out of their intellect and made the world a better place. If being a nerd was a bad thing, do you think we would have sites like NerdFighters or Youtube shows like Brotherhood 2.0? But to answer your ques , yes we are all nerds.

I don't think nerf is a nerdy thing because it's fun to play and modding guns is awesome and for me it makes me forget all my other problems (school, people, etc).

Notice how D is right next to F on the keyboard... Making it easy to compare the two.

Yes, Nerf is nerdy. Anyone who doesn't think so doesn't Nerf. Its that simple.

And yeah, Paintballing and Airsoft are too. Its just how it is.

Since my hobbies include Nerf, Brik Wars, Halo, and playing guitar in a video game metal band, i should say I am a nerd. Being a nerd is a great thing too, it means you can completely forgo societal standards and have some damn fun!

For my understanding of the word "nerdy" it means basically a person who is weak, can't live without using a computer, and is extremely ugly and prone to illness.

For my understanding of the word "geeky" it means basically a person who does things where you need to know a lot about a subject before doing it( like nerf, computer programming, robotics).

So, we aren't nerds, we're geeks

I would consider this a hobby. Anybody who plays video games in my eyes is a nerd. That would put us all on a level playing field, but then in order to make themselves feel better, they call the far superior and more intellectual people nerds and or geeks. This is really just a self comfort thing. *bangs head against desk* " that counselor is getting to my head!!!"

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I have to agree with Slug here.

Dictionary.com gives two definitions.

1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.

1. Definitely doesn't work for me because I am intelligent, people love being around me, I am highly effectual and a very handsome devil.

2. I am definitely not single minded and Nerf is in no way an antisocial event.

So would I say that I am a Nerd?
Of course not.

Besides, fuck labels. They are brief and false advertisements.

I consider myself a nerd. But I also enjoy lego as a hobby, and I'm somewhat of a gamer. I like being a nerd, because when I look at "cool" kids who are better at sports, I see that many of them are asses.
