Also, try and cock it with only half the shell in place and see if the catch point on the rod actually goes back far enough to catch.
If not you'll have to cut down one of the springs.
Edit: Win.

i also might add a more powerful catch spring, and see if that helps.
You just answered your own question. I would recommend nicking a pen and swapping its spring, then putting it in as the catch spring. What also might help is making a deeper notch in the plunger rod, so the catch has more to grab.
Oh, and CAPITALIZE YOUR I's. Please.
Edit: Hereticorp beat me to it.

FA_24's response to Ice's back pain thread:
I used to have that problem until I got circumcised. 15 pounds later I was able to stand up straight.

Also, does anyone know where I could buy a pressure pad for a laser? I might add a real laser just for fun, and the trigger thing is useless now, because if i press down the trigger just a little, it will fire.

thanks hereticorp. I had to cut down the maverick spring about half way, and use the catch spring from my busted maverick, and now it works fine.

What I did to make the light work a little better is put the metal that makes the contact about 1mm away from the other piece. This way it shows the light a bit better.

today i finished my couplered nitefinder, and when i tried to cock it, it wouldnt catch. i added a maverick spring twisted into the NF spring, and i think that may be the problem, but it has so much power behind it that i kind of want to keep it. i also might add a more powerful catch spring, and see if that helps. should i cut down the maverick spring, or is there something else i can do?
