I know it's kind of weird to think about but I'm curious to know how long you intend on nerfing.

For me it's a mystery as to how long seeing I didn't get into it too long ago (maybe since the summer?)

Anyway what do you think?

I fully intend to introduce my kids to the hobby, and then to be able to play with them if they enjoy it.

it really depends on what other things you like as you get older, and what you do. If you stop having time to play with Nerf, or just get bored with them and want to take the next step, then they probably won't be nerfing for that long. I plan on nerfing for a long time, just because I like to have a big arsenal.

Although I wish some kids wouldn't always look down on nerf and say paintball and airsoft are better, and just say that they're all equal in some sense. If they would actually mod a Nerf gun then it probably wouldn't be so dumb in their eyes. Then some people, would nerf longer, and have more people nerfing.

I plan on living a good life where I would like NERF to be incorporated in some fashion.

This is the answer of pretty much everyone who will post.

Until they stop making Nerf Blasters that can be modified. I just enjoy modding, and consequently going to wars.

For me I really don't plan on quieting for a while, I like working with my hands and modding just for the enjoyment of it. I agree with Busta Ninja I will probably stop when they make the guns unable to be modified.

Well my pastor's kids are into nerf cause they are copying their dad since he is into paintballing.
And what is sad, they are somewhat a motivating factor to get into nerfing.

I'm with most of the people who said they want to introduce their kids to Nerf and the such. I plan on continuing as long as I can. Love the modding and cosmetic changes that can make a gun go from ok, to "damn you just made me bleed with a Nerf gun"...

I got my friends into it and come summer we're going to try and get a war going.

Unknown. I've only done this for a few months, so it's entirely possible that I will lose interest in it at some point in the near future. Just as likely, I will continue nerfing for years to come. You can't predict the future.

I've been nerfing for about a year or so, I intend to continue for as long as possible. Though, seeing the direction the U.S. is moving in terms of gun-control, even Nerf blasters may be banned, a sad day when toys are deemed illegal because they remotely resemble firearms.

If anything I can see myself getting more into it when I leave home in a year or two. My parents are really restrictive as they hate nerf. They have blaster regulations (don't allow realistic ones into the house. They freaked when they saw my PAS) and won't drive me to wars that are remotely far away (45 min). Hopefully I will show up at apoc in a few years. I don't know about farther down the road though. We will have to see.

I'll probably NERF as long as I can.

That being unless something comes up.
Even then, the worst that will probably happen is that I would just have to put my arsenal away for a while.

I, personally, want to nerf till my 50's. Think of all the new and futeristic nerf guns there will be then? I am only 13. So.... But, people like OMC will probably nerf forever. Not saying he is old, but if he is past his 30's, then I think he will last awhile.

Meh... I want to nerf for a long time, but I don't want to be that creepy 70 year old who shows up at Massacre: "Is that Angel in his mask?"
"Yeah!... oh wait... no...it's some old guy."

He's 25.

I think everyone in this thread that says they will continue with this hobby until adulthood is full of shit. I'd like to be proven wrong on that but it's not going to happen.

I think I'll continue this hobby into adulthood, but that doesn't really count since I didn't get into it until adulthood.

I don't think anyone plans when they are going to stop nerfing or any hobby. They just slowly lose interest and fade out, or mabye thats just happened to me before my friend got me into modding.

You're all too young to really understand how unpredictable life is.
Or how good other people can be at ruining something you want to enjoy.

No kidding. I'm 30, and have already introduced my kid to Nerf. But I would like to keep playing for a long time. We'll see how it goes.

Dude, that's why Nerf is so good. Life in unpredictable, but Nerf is constant. You mod a gun, go to a war, and then blog about it. I can tell you, its about the only thing that's predictable in my life

What? You've been here all of a year and you consider this hobby to be "constant"? This hobby has changed a great deal in just the past 2-3 years. As a select few can tell you it's different from what it was 6 years ago. And further back than that, this site didn't even exist and the hobby was pretty damn tiny.
This hobby will keep changing over time with few core elements remaining. It's going to live or die by the people participating in it (or avoiding ACTUALLY participating because they don't do anything except post excuses online for why they don't make it to wars).
