My question to you is, "Should I mod this thing of beauty?".
I haven't had a stock Maverick in my hands for quite some time and the first thing that begs for correction is that little plastic nub that keeps the cylinder from popping out fully...

I'd recommend doing the basic mav mods: Air restrictor removal, penny mod, Possibly Russian Roulette if you can do it while still leaving the shell pristine looking. My own Maverick's cylinder support is a little scarred from my inexperienced dremeling.

We could easily all get screwed on the speculation angle.
Notice that nothing anywhere on the package says "special" or "limited" or even "Gamestop"
Interesting, I honestly never thought of it that way. Well, I actually did, but the rest of the forum didn't. Notice that there is nothing official ANYWHERE that says it is limited edition.
It's entirely possible that gamestop simply was allowed to sell them in a promo before in stores.
The managers at gamestop say that any crystal mavs would be sent back to hasbro. Why the bell would they be doing that? They probably don't plan on selling them on ebay. They could have made a profit pretty easily by just leaving them in stores. If they wanted people to try to get them, then why didn't they make it public that this was a one-time deal?
I'm really sorry to speculate, I really am, but all this points to it just being a preview at gamestop, rather than an exclusive one time release.

Damn it Foamfoot. Why is it that you kill every good topic with a retarded response a few days late.

Keep it as an investment on the hope that it will remain a limited release.......hence reap some nice profit down the road or keep it to boast your own collection.
Or mod it and bring out a little better performance and have a sweet piece to show others at war's and such. When I first saw it all I could think about was the possibilities of reverse painting it which could possibly produce results that can't be obtained with any other opaque shelled gun.
Just some ideas on another interesting release......Mod

It's not all about money though. Toys are only as good as the fun you can have with them. If you have fun looking at toys, then leave it NIB. If you like to play with toys, mod it. I personally like to play with toys, so I opened my mav as soon as I got out of the store. I kept the box, but I still play with the blaster.
I like that idea. You may not get money for it modded on ebay, but you could probably do some heavy modding and get an ass load of cash for it at a war. If you break it I will be happy to buy what there is of it left.

1. If you wanted to mod a maverick, just go and buy a blue one or a yellow one.
2. It's not like you can just go and buy one of these any day; they are special and should be taken care of.
3. And lastly, you are pretty damn lucky to have one of those things.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

You can bet your ass that I will be modifying the shit out of this thing.
I was going to say, if TC is so afraid of modding it, just give it to FA, I know he wants one.

However imagine the things you could do with a couple of Led's. Could become a show piece if it was done right.

If you have more fun modding, go buy a colored one and have at it, and keep this one just as it is.
If you actually go outside and play, I see this as a golden opportunity for the most kickass maverick paintjob ever.
Think about it. Paint the INSIDE of the shell whatever color you want, and you have an instantaneously invincible paintjob. You could chuck the gun at a brick wall and the color would be perfect, minus the scratches to the outer shell. All sorts of things are possible with clear shells.
But it's up to you. Have fun with whatever you wind up doing.
