Hey haven!
I was following Ice's LS DTB write-up when I realized the springs were only being used to about half of their full power.
So I did what I thought was natural, move the entire barrel assembly forward.
To do it, I simply dremeled out a path for it, and glued (spelling?) the dart chamber in place.
Here are some pics.

I can't tell what you mean by you moved the barrel assembly forward because your pictures are too small.

You know, Ice didn't come up with the DTG integration, OfAllTheNerf did it first.

I realize that, but I had like 3 longshots for some reason and I decided to just try it out.

Umpshaplapa, I don't understand how moving it forward would help either unless you cut down the bolt head. Can you please get us pictures of your plunger assembly put togeather AND disassembled?

You're right, but I'm pretty sure ice was the first to to a DTB integration on a singled longshot, so the OP isn't wrong is what he posted.

Yes, Ice was the first to do it on a Single LS... and I think we might as well name this style of LS the Iced LS.

I personally find singling an LS to be sort of an oxymoron, as the best thing the Longshot has going for it is it's ROF... but to each his own. I just sling by Trip-B on my back for long range shots.

However, on topic: I'm also confused as to what exactly you did? I'm trying to figure it out... does it compress the springs more, some how? From the way I look at it, I agree with Ice, you just created more dead space that the minimal increase in power doesn't really overcome...

added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole.
Found a better one.

I don't see how the coupler being back more restricts the springs' power. A better explanation would be appreciated.

It's the same assembly Ice used in his writeup. With the same 5.5 inch peice of cpvc he used. I don't really get how it adds more dead-space though. the air still has to travel the length of the cpvc in Ice's mod.

Captain is right, OfAllTheNerf beat Ice to it by almost a year, if my assumptions are correct. The first post in OfAll's Finesse mod is from July '07. The LS/DTB integration vid on youtube from uin13 was posted 2 months ago. Just to clarify.

I was a big fan of this mod when I read OfAll's thread, but I just can't understand the whole "singled Longshot" thing. As CrazyIvan said, why take away what is potentially the only advantage this gun has over most any other primary by singling it? Whatever works for you though.

I get it. It works like when you move the nf plunger tube up to get more air volume. he is using more plunger (longer draw) not more spring. I need to do this...
As for why single the ls? its a cheap easy to mod to an available springer. The only "rifles" (spring) on the market are the bbb and ls. The bbb has no stock. Plus this mod has decent rof, this is probably the cheapest cpvc breach that cocks-opens in one motion.

Props.

That explains it ALL. But it depends on when the springs you put into it bottom out.

I have a LS and BBB spring combo in there. I reinforced the catch to, now that they compress fully it probably needs it.

It's funny how many noobs singled their longshot, after watching ice's video, even though nothing's wrong with it, to emulate ice.

Not bashing you, just saying how much.... Influence... You have. I would consider singling it if my Bolt Sled broke, and I had no money, but other than that, singled LSs are as oxymoronic as meatless steaks. Which DO exist.

It depends on what you need. I have several Ls' and one singled one. Mine has a SHIT ton of springs in there, and is isn't showing signs of stress. It has high range, bordering that of my Xbow, higher rof, and it's available. I personally HATE the stock breach set up. It doesn't take stefans, Its finicky, doesn't have great range, and you half to deal with clips. The Ice breach fixes all of this.

But, you could also do an Angel Breech, modify your clips into 12 capacity, and while you're add it you can make them stefan compatible too. Then, if done properly, mind you, you have something that shoots just as far and with a much higher ROF.

I think what most people, including myself, are saying is that the Ice Breech isn't an effective use of the Longshot. It's a great way to make your Longshot rise from the grave if you broke your bolt sled, but I wouldn't take a perfectly good Longshot and single it.

EDIT: Spelling Errors. Studying for finals has just made my brain mush.

How many/what type of spring do you have in there? Is it a bitch to cock?
