Looks pretty close to me, judging by the one sitting under my desk... You could certainly use it, but you would need to make a few adjustments to the design to compensate. Of course, if you are just wanting to cut it up for use in other mods, then go ahead.

It could very well be. I use a lot of +bow springs, and they tend to take a small set over time, compressing down about an inch. I've measured new and used side-by-side. Pull on the ends, and voila--an 11" spring again. It's not a problem, as long as you know about it. On topic: even if it's not the exact spring you get from McMaster, it should be a nice base for a springer.

You would have to measure the wire diameter (hard to do without a caliper), outer diameter, and coils-per-inch to be sure that the spring you have has the same spring constant. Diameter and length don't mean much on their own.

Thanks guys

I am thinking about doing a SNAPbow- I think it is a different spring, however It is a great spring. I think, Just Some Bob, that it might look a little different due to the lighting or camera angle/distance.

It is 0.88"(Asked my dad if I could borrow his calipers.)- Guys will this affect my SNAPbow possibilities?

I forgot- there are 36 coils in 10" making 3.6 coils per inch. Could this change anything also?

Thanks for the replys!

I think you mean 0.088". Which is probably way too big.

Nope, I am sitting here, looking at the digital screen of my dad's caliper it definitely says 0.88".
Yes it is set to inches.

Wouldn't 0.088 be the size of pencil graphite?

Orogomi, I think you measured the spring diameter, where CS wanted you to measure the wire diameter. The wire diameter is the diameter of just the metal wire itself, and it should be much less than 8/10ths of an inch.

No, you should be good. It is close enough to still be effectively used in a SNAPbow. I am currently making one to bring to SENO Rork :D
