I'm having a problem with my computer. No one I know seems to know how to fix it. Basically, me and my friend are both using yahoo mail. My friend has a Mac, while I have a PC. I can send my friend mail, but whenever my friend wants to send something to me, it doesn't come through. Could you guys possibly help me out?

Sorry about the lack of info. I'm using IE7 and my friend is using Safari 3. We're both using Yahoo mail, I'm using the old version (styling-wise) and I'm not sure which one my friend is using. Hope that helped!

Weird... Download google chrome and try to open it with that. Mine is doing the same thing, but I use firefox.

You could just use a good mail provider... gmail is now open beta, I believe.

However, that's probably not the answer you want so tell us, can your friend send emails that other people receive? It is highly unlikely that emails sent from a Mac are not receivable on a PC...

Well obviously your computer needs to be overclocked to run Yahoo mail. Jeez. What do you think? because its on the internet it doesn't take my power then a high end computer game?

Yeah, overclock it, then probably toss it out the window. The sudden burst of air cooling might cause it to work.

Do you mean Yahoo messanger? Like, you wont get any of his messages? Then you just gotta re-install yahoo.

Dark shrimp, RAM may be cheap, but that isn't funny. Making people buy hardware when it's a software problem is not funny.

Contact Yahoo support or switch to Gmail. Simple enough. Hell, you could even move to the new style.

Instead of listening to the idiotic suggestions thus far, how about checking your spam folder? I switched to MSN once yahoo started putting e-mails from my friends into the spam folder.

Maybe you should update flash. Or maybe you could acknowledge the fact that Google made Chrome. Not Mozzila. Mozzila has no requirement to make sure every site works. If you don't like it, fix the code yourself.

It worked before, and yahoo mail works with chrome and not firefox. I've updated flash twice since this happened. I do know stuff about computers, this is just weird. I've cleared my cache and re-installed firefox. Firefox is also not working with cafepress or zazzle.

Actually this is horribly funny. I mean come on lets use some fucking sense here. "somethings not working! Lets run to the nerf forum and ask them!" How about you transfer that time you took to post a problem with your yahoo mail/messenger whatever and post it TO YAHOO SUPPORT. Since it seems that yahoo is the common factor here.

Lets take a look at the larger picture before you go uninstalling and reinstalling shit. Is THIS person the ONLY person that you are having an issue with? If so I highly doubt it is even your software.

Mac vs PC has no bearing on the issue.

Maybe you could replace your RAM, and then we will seem less lame.

Honestly though, if anyone actually took that advice, they deserve to have wasted that money. Well...unless they only had like 512MB of RAM, then it would be money well spent, even though it wouldn't fix the problem.

I think it may be the graphics card. Maybe its too slow to run Yahoo at its highest settings. I heard that they are changing the format to run only on the 8600gs.

I thnk your computer may have been infected with the "System32" virus. It starts out doing stuff like this, then gets a LOT worse. Just delete the "System32" folder and you should be good.

THAT IS NOT FUNNY IN ANY WAY, DO NOT DELETE THE SYSTEM32 FOLDER, IT WRECKS YOUR COMPUTER I updated viruscan TODAY and searched, it found no problems... system32 is a system process that is required for using your computer. This is seriously dangerous to a computer, an Admin has been PMed

This is clearly your problem... millions of people use Firefox just fine on sites like Google Video, Yahoo Mail and Cafepress daily. Reinstalling Firefox itself wouldn't necessarily remove any conflict that prevents you from using particular sites.

Really though, you probably shouldn't be venting over your computer problems or searching for help for them on this board... clearly you aren't going to get very far.
