Does anyone know the size of the spring in the NF? I ended up giving the spring to a friend and I'm not sure of the size. Better yet, is there a better spring than the one that comes stock with it?

Try an Ace #49 spring.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why put the same spring in the gun? The point is to modify it by putting in a better spring!!!!

Hey don't be a jerk because I'm new to modding. I was just asking if the the #49 spring was the one that came with it. Obviously I am going to get a better spring. I don't need idiots like you calling me a "noob" when you could just simply answer the question my previous post.

Yes, it was a completely valid question. He was just asking if they were exactly the same. Plus, even if it was exactly the same, its better than no spring like he said he has. Anywho, I believe the 49 is slightly longer so it doesn't rattle as much, but I could be wrong.

Thank you, that's the answer I was looking for. I just need some kind of spring that I can put in it. I'm just working on a flashlight integration and possibly working in a barrel mod. It's only going to be my secondary weapon so I don't need it to be too complex.

Hey I don't think that you are in any position to call someone else a noob. Look at your join date, your post count and the only thing you have contributed is a already been done mod with a different barrel material.
On topic: Try a cut down +bow spring.

the ACE spring has about double the force of the stock one, so your rights. Its only slightly stronger. Just kidding. no need for sarcasm.

I have never seen Ace springs around my area, all 3 hardware stores I've gone to only carry "century spring corp" springs. Get a C-836 or if the don't have it, a C-880. They have the same important parts (wire gauge and something else?), just different lengths, and need to be cut down to the size of a NF spring which isn't very hard.

I do not know if Ace sells #49 springs. All Ace Hardware's that I have been to do not. However, True Value Hardware does. If you cannot find it, I could sell you one for 4.00 shipped.

I use #49 springs in all of the guns that I sell. I do not enjoy using the Ace century springs because they are simply to strong. #49 is perfect in my eyes.

Do you cut the 49 spring down? Or is it naturally a perfect fit?

The ace 49 is worth seeking out. Alternatively, you could use a spring from home depot, but it has to be cut down, and is honestly way too strong for a NF (it will destroy the gun eventually).

OR you could just use a handyman 9713 spring. I don't think it's as powerful a the #49, but less chance for your NF breaking, eh? I think home depot carries it, but mine doesn't  . If yours does not, then buy one from mod man on ebay. #49 springs are also available from him here's a link: mod man's store
