Hey guys, I am working on a titan and was trying to find out what size FBR to use. I did a few searches and found out that I need heavier weights but there isn't much discusion about micro vs. mega stefans. The megas seem like they would be better because of size and weight being more stable in the air, but thats just my guess. Id appricate any advice you guys have.

P.S., I have pluged the pump and removed the balls and vents already but im waiting to do the brass barrel untill I figure out what size dart Im going to use (figured id tell you what I'v done sofar, seems to be the normal thing to do when asking for advice  ).

Micros are more readilly available, and usually push out more range. A mega sacrifices a small amount of range for a much more accurate shot. I would choose a mega because at over 100ft, you need all the accuracy you can get and you will probably never need a shot that can push over 175ft.

You didn't go old enough.

Here are the general characteristics of the sizes.

Nanos: Longest ranges, they are tricky to keep stable in flight
Micros: Good ranges, can be stabilized without much difficulty, fairly accurate
Megas: Shorter ranges than the other sizes, they are very stable in flight and very accurate.
Mongos: I have never seen a comparison

Almost everyone uses micros now, so if you use anything else, be sure to bring alot of darts.

Note: These are not my findings, as I have used micros almost exclusively. They are just what I have read during my time here.

Megas are only necessary when accuracy is required from a gun without a ton of power. A good example is spring side arms, where you would want an accurat shot, but the velocity isn't enough to even partially negate drag. With a titan, the dart is moving at such a high velocity, that megas aren't necessary because drag and other forces that will worsen the shot's performance are kept at bay by the velocity. Hope that helps.

Edit: What I've said above isn't from experience, but from what I heard from some article. I believe it was titled "Megas Vs. Micros."

Though I haven't yet made or used any, Angel's Mongos sound like fun. 1" FBR seems to have an excellent fit in 1" Sch40 PVC. The only problem, of course, is that I haven't ever found any 1" FBR.

Thanks for the info, I believe I will push on with the micros, I was inspired lastnight playing SniperElite by a top fed german machine gun. I think I will make a breech loader with a gravity fed mag that sits slightly to the right of center, almost like a paintball hopper. :D heh
