The Vulcan comes with Sonic Micro's, however i've now misplaced about 10 of them - as you do. I can go grab the refill with the belt but I might end up with more belts that ammo. It would be completely hilarious to say "well don't lose them" or a variation thereof, however i'd like to know if theres other ammo I can use to refill the belts. Do streamlines work?

Yes, all nerf brand darts work except megas, rockets, and arrows.
Once you get farther into the hobby, you can drill out those pegs and make yourself some stefans.

Welcome to the 'haven, good grammar too.

Drill, snip, or hammer the pegs out (which also improves performance a little), and pretty much everything fits.

Shit man! that made me giggle.

But yeah, Learn to make stefans, its a lot cheaper than stock darts

Well, since you're asking us, I'm guessing you don't have any other kind of ammo or something. If you need just ammo and not belts, buy a pack of taggers. They'll fly farther than the sonics by a bit, and they fit fine. Any micro ammunition fits fine, just take your pick.

Great! Thanks for the replies. Yes I do have other ammo. I have a recon, 3 mavericks and 2 nightwhatevers and have bought like 5 packs of those suction cup ones that go in the mavericks because that's all that's available here in Australia. However I was at Toys'r'us the other day and they had taggers so knowing that they fit, i'll load up on those or look into making stefans.

Which pegs are you talking about? In the belt or the single AR inside the gun?

The pegs in the belts are what they're talking about. Removing them doesn't increase the range by that much, but it doesn't hurt either.

And yeah, taggers are the best stock ammunition you can buy. They outperform the suction cups darts and streamlines and whatnot, so if you don't feel like making stefans or can't find materials, taggers are pretty much the next best thing.

In the belt. I bought a Vulcan the other day. All I did was take a stick of half inch cpvc, slid the hole where you'd stick the dart in over it, and took a big screwdriver and hammer and hammered all the pegs out.

You could do it without slipping the holes into a stick of cpvc, but I did to make it a bit more sturdy when hammering, and all the pegs slid to the bottom, making a easy clean up. Do you understand what I'm saying? I could whip up something in paint real quick to give you a idea.

Why do people always post their name at the end of their posts? Its kinda pointless.
After all, there IS a section for a signature.

I have a Vulcan and i found out that taggers jam more often than any other ammo. The taggers are fun but i suggest to go with everything else.

or not.

Ah, damn! I've lurked here a bit but never saw that. I figured if I thought of it someone else must of already.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but how exactly hard is it to remove the main AR? Kinda hesitant about doing it for a while, at least until I get a dremel.

It's only moderately hard. It's also not worth the effort. Exactly why has never been determined, but performance improvements have been small or none, and the risk of doing damage is significant.

Ah. Thanks for letting me know. That saved me some time. I just need to get a few more ammo belts and mod them together. Then I just gotta get the Heavy Weapon Guy's laugh down.

There's a safety???

Well, I recently acquired one, and there is an on/off switch on the back, but I don't know how that could count as a safety... seems pretty obvious to me.

What I think he's referring to is the setup where it will only fire darts when the chain is inserted in to the feeder. The little hatch that closes down above the gear has a thing on it that, in the presence of a chain, will push up, making a little dot on the side of the hatch stick out. This little dot is like the one on the titan for a scout attachment, and it pushes a small orange panel that makes a circuit. So, without a chain present in under the hatch, the panel isn't pushed, so the gear won't turn automatically.

Basically you need a chain inside of it for it to run automatically.

EDIT: Pics

Thats the dot that sticks out when the underside of the hatch is pressed (I'm pressing the underside with my finger). If you can't find it, it's smack in the middle of the side of the hatch.

The orange square above the barrel opening is the panel it pushes.

I think this is what he's referring to, but correct me if I'm wrong.
