hello! I have been infecting my college dorm with the desire to have Nerf wars. The idea of modding my nerf weapons makes me very happy, especially with average distances of ~ 100 feet.
I purchased an Air XXL rocket Launcher, and I was wondering what you all thought about the modability of it.
The how-tos on modding haven't really answered all my questions, so I thought I'd come here.
But first and fore-most, I need more darts for this gun. If you aren;t familiar with it, the darts have an outer diameter of 6.7 centimeters and an inner diameter of 5cm, with a tight fit.
Where can I go to get foam to make more darts? I figure if I used balsa wood for fins my darts would be more stable than teh ones that came with it, as they tend to veer off at 15'.

Any help or advice is welcome.

Try using different sizes of foam insulation. Get that at your hardware store, it comes in tubes. My bets advice to you i terms of ammo is barrel mod it and use stefans.

What about pool noodles? I know you can make ultimator ammo out of those, and they should be about the same size as the xxl bazooka missiles. I dont think I would want to dart mod one of those babies though, it's just too cool, and such a huge gun shooting one tiny dart just seems like such a waste when you can get a much smaller gun to do the same thing.

that would work. the darts look like pool noodles.
but how could I core one? The interior is way larger than any drill bit I know of.

Your best bet would really be to reduce the barrel by somehow slapping some pvc in there. You could even put something larger than 1/2" in there if you really want larger darts. If you go to loghelp.com, they have backer rod in lots of different sizes.

PCV doesnt work, you have to put a big rubber hose clap coupling on there, and then go to PVC.
