I recently read the thread about the new N-Strike game's weapons both conceptual and patent pending, and noticed with glee that the Spartan NCS-12 looked peculiarly familiar to the SCAR from the PC game Crysis

That's actually called a Heckler and Koch XM8. It was the prototype to be the next standard issue rifle for US soldiers. I believe it was scrapped a couple years ago. I talked to an Army recruier who visited my school a week ago who actually fired one. He thought it was one of the best firearms he'd ever shot.

The SCAR in Crysis is based on the XM8 shown above, just like i think the Spartan NCS-12 is based on the SCAR from crysis.

Personally I think it channels more from the actual SCAR (try BF 2 for a look) as well as maybe a little bit of 552 thrown in..

Having said that... this topic is a little pointless... probably not really thread worthy...

Recently you've posted 2 threads on the N-Strike game guns.. all of which 'don't exist' at the moment, so it's all just hype, and this community (well the age > 13 part) gets fed up with hype and speculation pretty quickly..

Otherwise, you could say it looks like any other Assault Rifle...

The spartan looks like a lot of guns. It's just basically a genaric assault rifle shape. I am not a halo fan, but personally I think this looks a bit like the halo guns, and the fact that is's named the spartan is probabally a halo fan lure. Looks cool though. If they make it, it will probally go for around $35 or so.

I just don't understand people. If you have to squint and stand half a mile away in order to see the similarity between two guns, they really aren't similar. The end of the barrel is the only thing that looks similar. The stock is different, the mag is different, the overall shape is different...

Lamma boy has it right, it looks more like the G22. There's no way it looks like the fish gun...

Anyway, they may be based off of real steel firearms, but that doesn't mean that they are going to completely replicate them.

This whole Wii Nerf game thing is starting to give me a headache...

It said in the picture that it fired a 3 dart burst. I don't think that they could make something like that, and even if they could, it would sell for more than 35 dollars.

Goddamn, why do we compare nerf blasters to real guns? THIS TOPIC HAS NO POINT IN ANY WAY. You should be muted for a week for posting a comparison of nerf guns and real guns in an existing thread. But starting a topic about one particular gun sharing some similarities with a nerf gun should get you banned. Jesus Christ, what do you think? Because it looks like a gun, it will crap fire, and eat tigers? This doesn't come from my anti gun thinking, it come purely from me wishing that people wouldn't post crap like this. BAD DOG! Was looking for a semi-auto shotgun that I thought I've seen before that looks exactly like that gun but I'm not sure anymore. The H&K SL8 kind of looks like that gun but not totally, I'll keep looking though.

Wait a second guys. This fourm was started on someone noticing that a speculated toy gun resembles the shape of a real gun. Now we're all argueing what gun it really looks like. If you ask me, I don't give a shit. Nerf guns are not meant to be real, or resemble specific guns. Their designes are useally formed around a functional part of the gun. Let's quit this pointless banter, and save our posts for something productive.
