AT LONG LAST I have found a way to carry guns, hands and iritation free. PEOPLE OF NERF, I GIVE YOU THE RAIL HOLSTER!
http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0067.jpg

After creating this I found out quickly that this holster couldn't hold up heavier guns like the longshot, so I made one with a strap that goes over your opposite shoulder, here it is next to the original.
http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0068.jpg

Here is how they're worn
http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0069.jpg

http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0070.jpg

This is the basic concept of what the holster is:
http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0071.jpg

http://i297.photobuc...12/102E0072.jpg

As you could see when my longshot was on the holster, I had moved the rail to the back. This is because with anything heavier than a maverick, you need the rail on the gun backwards so it doesn't slide off. The reason I moved the rail to the back is partly due to the fact that I couldn't turn it around over the chamber, but the gun won't hang right if I were to turn it around there. (You draw a gun that way with regular holster anyways.) The trick to getting the gun off is to press the holster to yourself so it doesn't move while you draw the gun. When your using the forward holster, you just do the same pulling down.

Please tell me what you think of my mod/concept as I expect this to revolutionize nerf and nerf wars.

~Optional reading~

Okay i'd like to say sorry about the grammar and spelling that I just now fixed. I had hit the post button accidentally and then I relized what time it was and had only enough time fix the URL problem, and I couldn't fix the spelling or grammar. I had to go to church. What, do you expect me to blow that to fix my grammar?

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

From the Code of Conduct you agreed to when you applied to join:

Avoid AIM-style (lol, u, ne, ppl, etc) spelling.

Use words, not letters or numerals. This is not SMS.

OK, please, PLEASE listen to me. I am not trying to be mean. Frankly, you haven't gotten off to all that good of a start here. You may still be able to redeem your reputation, but if you just go, "Oh, who cares about punctuation? I don't need punctuation!" you are going to get banned. In fact we had someone banned for that just the other day. I don't like seeing people get banned. I really don't. So please, be absolutely obsessive about proper punctuation and grammar. Make sure you spell everything right, and punctuate, and use grammar properly. If you do not, don't expect to be around here for long. And whatever you do, if someone gives you a tip or warning like I am now, DON'T IGNORE THEM. Especially if they are an Admin like Pinapple, One Man Clan, Groove, ompa, The Infinite Shindig, or VACC. I know it sounds strict, but that's what you agreed to when you registered.

I really hope you listen to this. Best of luck here at the 'Haven.

yeah i know i try my best to do so but now school's back in i get tired of that. i usually go over it a couple of times, u just saw it before i got the chance to.

This is not acceptable. Take a week off and learn that what you "get tired of" is LAW around here. We do not have time for you.

That's an interesting idea, but I doubt that it would "revolutionize nerf". I don't know why you bothered making it LS capable when you can just as easily use a two point sling on the LS. I also can't figure out how you would get the gun back on the "holster" without both hands and actually being able to see it. That alone would make it a small pain in the butt.

Finally, an easy way to carry your guns hand and irritation free has already been invented. They're called cargo shorts, and I own several pairs. But these shorts also offer additional versatile storage for darts, MP3 players, foam balls, non-foam balls, food, drinks, money, wallets, saltines, NES cartridges, cellphones, cables, pencils, pens, USB drives, memory cards, and joysticks (of both gaming and non-gaming varieties)

So don't come in here preaching that you're going to revolutionize the way people nerf. Stay humble and if you invent something really awesome the people on this forum will sure as heck let you know.

In conclusion an interesting concept, but not a "revolution"

It looks really floppy and unsecured. I like holsters better.

Salmon, I like seeing people like this getting banned. It means that there will be one less person who will blatantly disregard the rules this forum has, and thus making a better site.

But a lot of them just aren't used to the extra-strictness of this site. I had a friend who was banned on NHQ, just because he hadn't seen the rules. He could have been a decent member, but since he was used to much more lax forum rules, he got banned his first day. What I'm saying is, some people don't understand just how serious we are here about grammar and punctuation and such, and don't get time to understand the seriousness of the rules before they are banned. Of course, in some cases, people are just complete idiots, in which case they should be banned. But not everyone is that way.

I'll give this kid credit for posting something decent for his first post. The problem is the blatant disregard for the rules. Try telling a cop that just pulled you over for speeding "I just got tired of going the speed limit and didn't feel like slowing down." If you can get out of a ticket after that you're my hero.

Listen, Firefox has a built in SPELL CHECK for Christ's sake. Unless there's another dysgraphic (still not buying it) on the loose, learn to fucking spell. I only gave him 7 days. That's more than enough time out. He will be back next week I'm sure to fuck it up. I really do hope however that he learns the error of his ways.

I let little things slide all the time as long as the basic idea is there. I've seen enough "your" instead of "you're" and other common mistakes. "Ur" is just not acceptable, and if I can't play it in Scrabulous, it is not a word either. I use it all the time, but it's in text messages and IM's. You have to understand the context of where you're speaking, not just what you're saying.

Salmon, ignorance is not acceptable here. I'm not calling you ignorant, I just mean that someone who says they didn't see the rules is responsible for them regardless. it may not seem fair, but that's the way it is. The situation you described is different that this one anyway. It's up to you to do your part. If I don't read the manual for the new camera I just bought, how can I expect to take the best pictures possible? It's all relative.

Point to all this.....own up to your own shortcomings and fix them. Saying, "yeah I see what you're saying, but fuck you I'm still doing it my way" is not acceptable. I'm your parent, teacher, or whoever else you think you can get away with it on.

Side note, when did I become such a crotchety old man?

I fucking LOVE the crotchetiness. I decided to join this forum partially due to the fact that people get banned over grammar. Sites like this give me hope for the future of the internet, as opposed to say, Youtube, where the comments alone are enough to make a happy man slit his wrists on a sunny day. ~Rork

A happy english professor, maybe. The majority of people would just grimace.

EDIT: I forgot. I was going to post something on the topic of these 'holsters'.

If they hung in a way which held the guns in a position similar to a traditional holster, and had straps to hold the gun steady against your leg, then I think this would be a viable alternative to the traditional holster. However, a simple clip with a female N-Strike rail is far too loose to keep a sidearm from flapping about against your leg while running.

Holsters. Where to begin? Bad idea. They chafe, hurt and in the case of the holster for my Disk Shot, make me bleed. Never again.

I was thinking of going Nerf Warrior with industrial velcro, but Im to lazy.

Nerfhaven makes my day because of you Mods. You guys actually do what the job title implies and I salute you for it. Ban people who don't follow the rules. I was shocked at the number of people on other sites (When I went on a bit "beta test" of ban times and admin responses) at how long it takes. I've seen people here get banned only hours after being approved. Other sites, I've seen repeat porn posters on for months, and not just with different accounts. You guys do what you do, and you do it well... Yes, even you VACC.

Ass kissing aside, holster=bad. If it will impede your ability to run, don't use it.
