And here we have it. Cute, no? It's a SNAPbow built on a 1/2 scale--half a +bow spring as the powerplant. It's also quite small...

Posted Image

And it's the perfect accessory for the Rev. 3 SNAPbow.

Posted Image

Construction methods and parts are almost identical to those of the SNAPbow, apart from the length; the PC is a 6 1/2" length of 1 1/4" pvc. Everyone can look forward to seeing these fellas at SENO. Comment away.

EDIT: technical stuff.
Pressure Chamber: 6 1/2"
Plunger Rod: 6"
Hole for Catch Pin: Approx. 3 1/2" behind the front edge of the Pressure Chamber.

There seems to be an abundance of homemade sidearms lately.

And now, for the inevitable: Ranges?

lol The +bow just got a matching pistol, and now the SnapBow has a matching pistol! But what ranges do you get compared to Foam_shooter's PistolSNAP?

Just to lay this to rest at the outset: I haven't measured ranges, nor do I plan to any time soon. I'll just put it this way: It will suffice.

My assessment? I fucking love it. I'm thinking of slapping an 8-round Bobafan turret on one, for added zombie-smashing goodness.

If a pistol/sidearm get 50' accurately, than that's more than enough. Nice jog. I like it. But it kinda looks bulky.

Bulky? Meh. It is solid--but I like some weight in my hand.

It's all about personal preference. It's also really small. That's another plus.

Will you be selling these soon?
I WANT IT!!! But I can't build one. My home depot has a very limited selection of stuff.

I would be willing to sell these. However, they would be pretty much the same price as a SNAPbow; they're only $2 or so cheaper, and almost as aggravating.

Are they cheaper to be made with a SNAPbow, using left over parts?

Yes. Sort of. They cost almost the same, gun-for-gun. However, if you buy everything necessary to build a SNAPbow, you just have to double up on pipe fittings, meaning that you'll end up spending an extra $1.50-$2 on the sidearm, in addition to what you've already spent on the primary.

Would that also translate into a discount if someone were to buy both from you?

That wouldn't; as I say, I would be spending the same amount of actual money, in the long run. However, I could see a potential discount for anyone buying both. I'll have to do some calculations.

My gun was obviously the inspiration for this. Just kidding. If you wouldn't mind I would like some measurements of the pipes and stuff so I can compare it to mine and possibly build my own. Great job.

It looks nice. If you decide to make a turret, I wouldn't bother with 8 barrels. I have never run out with 6. You just have to reload a bit as you go. I had no problems taking on an etrl rapid fire shotgun which has twice the number of barrels. It is basically my primary at the moment and i have been doing better than people with traditional primaries at the last 2 wars.

Foam_Shooter: technical info has been added to the first post.

Silent5n1p3: Gah. It's in my sales thread. As Echnalaid says, $47 shipped. Bobafan: yeah, but 8 would just be so MEAN. Also: swappable drums? Why, I believe so.

I really like the idea of the snap bow, but there's two things that really bug me;
1. my home depot doesn't have the right supplies for building one
2. Why do you always put the massive clothespin trigger guard on them, it seems very bulky and unnecessary

Other than that good work, it seems like the site has gone through some massive homemade breakthroughs recently.

This isn't the SNAPbow topic, but I'm gonna roll with it:
1. You could order the fittings, etc. from McMaster.
2. I use industrial-strength clothespins, which demand a larger trigger cover, due to their being roughly 3 times the size of regular clothespins.

Woah! A mini SNAPbow! If I had money, I'd get one and slap it on the SNAPbow I'm getting at SENO (but alas, I am now broke from going gun-happy). Looks a little too bulky to be mounted yet, but with a little work, you could.

The trouble is that the priming pull is quite stiff, which would make integration problematic, as the joint would have to be very strong. It's also too long to be used without a substantial integration rail. This was built less for integration than to serve sidearm/pistol rounds/gunslinger needs. I believe it will perform admirably in those roles. I may bring one or two to sell at SENO, if anyone expresses interest.
