Hey all,
I love my Titan, but I am getting annoyed with the amount of noise the pump makes. It makes a loud, squeaky racket whenever I pump it, basically telling all my friends "Bendy's here!"

Has anyone had any experience with reducing that sort of noise?

I've yet to get a titan, although I would have to say that you can't really get rid of it. That's the sound of the check valve. I would have to assume that the only thing that you can do to suppress this would be to insulate the pump area with some foam.

The only thing that you can do without taking off the stock pump cover is to fill the stock with foam and use craft foam sheeting to pad the edge of the pump cover that hits support inside the shell.



Basicly, put foam wherever there is green. (sorry for the bad bad drawing, I don't have my mouse with me)

That sounds like a plan. I'm pretty sure that the stock pump has all of the overpressure safety stuff. If I tear it out, would I have to build some sort of overpressure safety valve? I am concerned about a better pump blowing the tank.

Mine squeaks too, and I've replaced the tubing on it.
On mine, it seems as if the squeak is coming from the firing pin, however, that may be incorrect.

Mcmaster has OPVs that you can work into the tubing with some adapters. They generally come in increments of 5 psi, and are about $6 each. Or you could just use the pressure gauge to watch.

You can counter the anti-over-pump feature by plugging the hole at the tip of the plunger with hot glue, nothing needs to be torn out. But I wouldn't really bother with it anyways, it takes like 5 min, but it makes way more sense to get a nice small dual action pump, attach it somewhere, and hook it up to the tank.

The check valve can be separated from the pump tube of the titan. It takes some grunt work but after that just find a pump that fits inside it and glue it down. I used an airhogs pump. It's so much quieter than the stock pump.

Well there is an alternative to that...When I minimized my Titan, I decided to put the pump on the bottom, it did absolutely nothing to cut down the noise. Then, my friend dropped it and I had to drill into where the tubing fit over because it was unrepairable. After the drilling I was able to fit the tubing inside the Titan pump, which strangely, stopped the noise. So now I have a non squeaky Titan.

I must agree that the way to really circumvent the "problem" of no OPV is to use a gauge. I've done it, and it works very nicely. I can easily choose the range of my shot, just by the pressure.

On my titan I replaced the pump with a bike pump and it still makes the squeak after a couple pumps
