I call it the Lady Shotgun

Another option would be to call it the derringer (which was actually an tiny little gambler's gun in the old west) shotgun. Anyway, my friends and I usually use blowguns for all purposes, since they're pretty much the most effective 'blasters' we have (none of us are modders, besides me removing the ARs of my NF and BBB.)

I use my modded bbb-- 1.5 Ace #49 springs and 13" cpvc barrel and NF- just regular #49 and brass barrel. Also if my friends are being a real pain in the ass and hide in theirr bases, I get out my Titan and nail them in the head.

Well, the last "real" CQB game we had was years ago, when my friend had 2 wildfires and a crap load of tech targets (this was all before I got into modding). We'd use the Wildfires to guard the stairs and rush them with techtargets...yeah it was a fun game...

With stock darts for wars with friends, then when we get to wars like 'geddon i'll use my stefans, we try to minimize getting welts and bringing pain...not unless it's to other people at those other wars...

Nevertheless, I have to be... conservative when pumping my air guns.

I hear that. When I play with the youth at my church, my AT2K (AR removal only) is the most powerful gun allowed currently, and I have to 2-pump it for standard use, only allowing a 3-pump for long range shots. I put a red mark on the Youth Pastor's hand at 20 feet (with a Sonic Micro), so we decided we didn't want any of the kids getting hit with that beast up close at full strength.

Does anyone seriously even play close quarters only? I'm pretty sure that we as a community nerf almost exclusively outdoors.

Yep - I've only played outside in my back yard with my young nephew, niece and cousins. My primary venue is the above mentioned church where my wife and I are sponsors for the youth group. Indoor wars are a whole different ball game.

ROF is king in indoor wars.

Ain't in the truth man, ain't it the truth! It takes a skilled player to go toe-to-toe indoors with a Vulcan/Magstrike/RF20 wielder with nothing but a NF or a Mav. Cover is the key.

My current setup is my AT2K and a Mav (both with just AR removal). This gives me a good mix of long range (the AT2K is the farthest shooting gun in our arsenal at 40' flat) and ROF.

In the past I've gone with these setups:

Longshot & Mav
NF/DS & Recon
Double Shot & Mav
Twin Mavs

I'm really wanting to track down a pair of the new Tommy 12's though - I think going John Woo with a pair of those would be completely ridiculous - mixing a good ROF with a decent ammo capacity and the ability to supress multiple targets with no cocking required. Stealth would be out the window with a pair of flywheel guns though, so it would be best for the less sneaky games like King of the Hill or VIP (Escort side anyway). It would also be a good combo for flag/base defense - basically if you know the enemy already knows where you are, or will be able to spot you easily, then this combo would probably work well.

(That's another nice thing about indoors - we have a completely different pool of weapons that are effective. The short ranged, high ROF guns like the Mav, Magstrike and RF20 reign supreme, wheras we would find a bulky, long-ranged single shot gun to be quite impractical - hence why a Crossbow wouldn't be much use.)
