Hi, as you all know I am Parkway and i just became interested in a new hobby besides Nerf. Weird right? I was just wondering if anyone knew any cool paper airplane designs and if they are willing to share. If you would like to see two really cool videos, one of them is or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3VQAGDJML8 If youre watching the second video then just fast forward until he starts to make the airplanes and if you want you can watch until he throws the airplanes. They are really cool and i memorized the design after the first day.

If you put some small micro stefans in & throw at a 30 degree angle the plane will shoot the darts and bruising anyone within a 50' range.

Micro stefans? 50 feet? Bruising? Plane? Shoot? 30 degree angle? Complete BS. Any way, my cousin has a remote-control airplane that drops little foam "bombs". We modded it to drop stefans. Air strike anyone? I will give anyone 5 bucks who can make a remote-control plane drop one of THESE .

I will try but probably fail miserably.

I have always loved paper airplanes. I watched the video, and despite being cheesy, it was still cool. I remember those little tractor things from the fourth grade, they were a lot of fun. That coffee can thing was kinda cool too. I have to show my little brother this, he'll love 'em.

It's not like that. I put lube on it and its the same. Its just stuck. And when I cock it back it goes farther back then usual. Also I push as hard as I can and it wont go back in. I've tried the methods and they wont work. Also pics are up.

Wow! That's cool! Do you still have it? If you do, you have to make a video.

I quote Nerfer9 "Micro stefans? 50 feet? Bruising? Plane? Shoot? 30 degree angle? Complete BS."

Actually, if you do it right, the darts will bruise. I can throw the loaded plane about 80 feet flat. Pray the loaded plane itself doesn't hit you.

I call BS. Thats impossible, unless your Chuck Norris. PAPER airplanes can't fly 80 feet even ANGLED! Unless your talking about a metal airplane with an engine on it, no, just no. BS.

No, that's possible. If you throw it right, a paper airplane can go around 80 feet. But not flat dude, no. Maybe 50 or so feet.
Anyway, I made one of those paper airplanes that "Mr. G" made in that 'Do try this at home' video, and it flies really well. You can't put too much force on it, but you can basically just flick your wrist and let go, and it gets lift really well, and flies perfectly straight. It's cool. My little brother loves these.

I use a dart-style plane that has a blunt nose(yes, blunt!) and is very small in a front view, but huge in profile. the plane flips after about 30' and dives, using the tail as a catapult and the nose sorta drops, making the plane throw the dart(s) very far. And my backyard is 152' wide and the plane can sail into the neighbor's window. So yeah, it goes at least 80' flat. Now piss off about the saying it's BS cause it's true, if you are willing to learn the right throwing method. Pokechan, I guess that leaves you out. Sorry.

I have to make a paper airplane shooting machine for science... in two days... I hate having a group with no mechanical skill whatsoever. My plan is two electric motors and vacuum cleaner bands on the outside of two wheels attached to the motor. Could probably use it for Nerf too...

It would be like that thing they used on Mythbusters to throw footballs for the helium kickoff myth.

Or like this thing, but closer together:

EDIT: Bad news, cannot find an electric motor. I need this by Thursday, where can I get one?

Dart (style of paper airplanes) is the style where you fold the paper's corners twice then bend it in half then fold the wings.

It's not launching a dart...

yeah, I'll try to get a vid up ASAP, it'll be a while, damn camcorder's a pain in the ass to use.

Foamfoot, try using larger wheels rimmed with neopene to get some grip on the plane. For nerf, adjust the wheels so they have a 7/16" gap.

I don't actually have the machine pictured, it was just a reference to something like my design. Thanks anyhoo.
