Alright so I recently opened up a neglected supermaxx 3000 I got from a friend. This thing is ridiculously beat up, I mean its REALLY taken a battering. Its got scratches and what not and I think even some water damage. However, I finally got it open. Once inside the thing, because I knew it was broken the trigger kept making a very crack kinda noise, I investigated the trigger apparatus.

The trigger is fine, but it seems as if the firing pin is stuck inside of the airtank. All attempts to pull it out, even just a little bit, were to no avail. Its almost as if someone epoxied it in there, but I know this is not the case because it has never been opened.

Any help?

I, too "have recon," as they say. I get him in old country. Then I realize he sucks like bog. So I trade him for potato.

Try to spray silicone or even WD40 to make it loose.

WD40 will eat the valve away... Don't use it. Silicone might work though. If it is that beat up, Im not sure if it will ever work.

I seen a movie about that once.

I'm sorry but I think your gun is pushing up foam (your screwed). Make sure you give it a proper burial. Try pushing the valve in using a screw driver and a hammer to push it in.

I think the fact that he had maybe dropped it may have caused the pin to be like that. But I think your best bet is silicone.

I agree. Silicone spray is a good next step. Holding the tank with the barrel end upward, spray a little in so that it can reach the valve. Give that a minute or two to flow, then flip it over, pin upward, and drip some down the pin so that it can seep into the mechanism. If that doesn't unstick it, then try mechanical force down the barrel end like N9 says, to open the valve. Although it's impossible to know whether the valve is stuck in the output end, or the pin is stuck in the other end ... or both.

I wouldn't call it toast just yet. But be prepared for that possibility. Even then, the SM3K is a cool blaster (especially the yellow tank version) so there may be some interest in the parts even if the blast chamber is dead. I wouldn't mind having spares of the rotator parts. Actually I expect to be cracking a SM3K tank open soon, in an attempt to enlarge it.

EDIT: aaaaaaaaaagh! avatar overload! Penguin quota exceeded!

Nevermind.

I agree. Change your avatar fadinglight, Bob had it first.

No, that's not an appropriate request.

1) there aren't enough to go around
and
2) I may have had it before fadinglight4, but others had it before me.

I'm certainly not bothered enough by it to ask anyone to change. I mostly found humor in the fact that not only are there two of us in this thread with this one from Wallace & Gromit, but TimmyTown also uses a penguin - Badtz Maru, I believe. If there was an Attack Penguin (GWAR or otherwise), I'd probably switch. Or maybe war kittens. But I'll happily acept what's available until such time as I can contribute enough to earn a custom one.

Ha, I use the penguin because to my knowledge no one else uses it. Most people register other users visually, meaning that they associate YOU with your avatar, and not your name. I may just have to write an article so I can get a custom Avvy.
