It would depend on the power of the gun, but I don't think I would want to play against someone who was using them.

That's almost as good as the stefan I made with a nail sticking out of the end. Now of course I wouldn't actually play with these, but I sure as hell shot a few cans with them. Worse part was when I missed the can and inbedded it in my wall. Jesus, and my 5k isn't even that powerful.

If you make these, for God's sake, please make sure the tacks are glued to the foam. If that tack comes off when you shoot, someone's not going to be happy.

I'de just be concered about the weight differencial between a BB and hot glue, and a tac...

They are the only kind i make since i can get tacks much easier than fish weights or bb's

They dont hurt that much more than the others, but of course you dont stick the pointy end of the tack out or you would puncture someone's skin.

One benefit is that it's easier to get the thumb tack directly in the middle of your dart, making for more balanced weight. It's easy to drop the BB off to the side accidentally, and by then it's already inbedded in the hot glue probably. You have to find small thumb tacks, however. Large ones won't fit the dart right, and will get stuck on the barrel.

That's a good point Janga. Overall, I don't think they are very good though.

I would definatly not play with thumbtacks. A few years ago, before I had wars, I made a type of dart, where the fbr is the shell, and the actualy thing being shot was a screw. The small screw was dangerous enough, and hurt like a bitch. Imagine if that screw was a thumbtack. Of course I dont make these "bullets" anymore, but they were really fun to shoot things with.

Me and Howard made a few batches of them, because as the other said, thumb tacks are easy to find and cost $1 for 300. Since we all use mega guns, the normal sized tacks work great.
