I did my first nite finder mod about 6 months ago. It started to lose power and went only about 40 ft, down from around 60. I added a firefly spring and it got about 10 more feet, anyone know why?

If you stretched your spring originally, then it probably went back to how it was.

You could have an air seal problem.

Your Stefans could have thinned out and don't hold as well in the barrel.

Or, your measurements are inconsistent.

On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.

thanks, originally i never stretched the spring, just removerd air restrictors and did a barrel replacement. I used 1/2 inch PEX for the barrel and i have to twist stock darts and some of my stefans to get them down the barrel. I also have 2 o-rings on it

Take it apart and look at the O-rings. I had that problem once and one of my O-rings got pinched between the plunger and the head. From then on I always taped up my plunger.

much alike to the other posts, i'd suggest lube and better o-rings.

Yet I have a question. did you remove the peg too? I've found that that will age the gun faster.

I did a spring replacement on my first Nf and pieces of the plunger head started falling out of the barrel after a while. Range died. You need to put craft foam on the end of the plunger rod.

I think maybe if you used it a lot then something inside came loose and maybe that is affecting it? Although I am definately not sure.
