Those ranges are really good for such a low plunger travel distance.

Excelent mod.

Ok so its not Saturday, but here's the video anyway.

I'll get a range video up maybe tomorrow or Sat.

The distance to the cans is about 8' and yes, its Iron Man! And no, I'm not a great shot.

A few things I've noticed while taking the video is that the less used the darts the better the shot. While that's probably true for all blasters, for the Schofield it means a tighter fit is great. With that in mind I will be trying a slightly longer barrel with tightening rings.

Sputnik and Hammer - Just south west of Austin actually, a little farther west than Oak Hill.

That gun is totally awesome. I can't believe it got 20' ranges with only half an inch of plunger movement. By the way is that iron man going on in the background of the video.

Well, I've been tweaking.
I replaced the spring with a slightly longer one( a half coil longer) and added some tightening rings to the barrel.

Ranges have gone up to:
26'
27' 5"
24' 3"
31' 2"
28' 8"

Not too shabby

I decided I'm going to leave this blaster the way it is now and save my other tweaks for Mk2. Which I'll get up here as soon as I get some more Polycarb. Gonna hit up a couple of sign shops tomorrow, see what I can find.

I love everything about this! Do you think you'll be selling these in the future? I would love to have a pair of them! They may not shoot far but they look sexy doing it :D

Nice job. Not great ranges, yes, but honestly, if it gets 20-30 feet with that little plunger travel, if you made the plunger tube a little wider in diameter or longer, I can foresee it getting maybe 40 feet max. And for a gun that cool looking, that'd be fine with me.

EDIT: Also, I'm from Austin too, Vimes.

I wouldn't care if it gets 20-30 Feet honestly. Anything with those awesome looks and THAT little cocking motion should be given an awesome award. I still want to buy one though....

I'll be getting more supplies later this week and I'll come up with a parts list and so forth. As for selling these...They wouldn't be cheap. I believe the parts cost 25 to 30 dollars. I'll work out some figures later, but for now, what might people be will to pay for these?

I was hopping it par around $25-$30; Seeing as the parts cost around that amount I'd say as low as possible while still making it worth your time.

Yes, I would be aiming around that point too. Of coarse, if you demanded a couple more bucks, we could negotiate.

These things would require a great deal of fine work. Quality hand-tooling is not, and should be, cheap. This is especially true in light of this gun's status as a vanity piece (in a good way).

Rork has hit the proverbial nail on the head. Quite a bit goes into one of these.

I honestly didn't think anyone would want to buy these, but I guess there are some Old West lovers out there like me. I'll be ordering from Mcmaster today or tomorrow and I'll sit down to make one and see how long it takes. It took a good bit of time for the first one, but now that I've got all the parts finalized it shouldn't be more than a day.

I've actually ordered an old Schofield grip and it should be here in a few days. From that I should be able to fabricate some. for less than what I payed.

As soon as I get Office back on my computer I'll get the templates up. Don't worry, I will get them up.

If you are going to sell them, I'd say charge at least $40. It looks like you put alot of work into it, and anything less would be ripping yourself off in my opinion.

Really impressive. Twenty feet out of that thing with that long of a plunger pull is incredible as Carbon stated. But on think you plunger head seems to be going down when it is primed.

All right, I've finally finished Mk2. It has a wood grip and a more secure construction design.

As of right now I will not be selling these. I might in the future when i get a few tools to make the process easier, but right now its just not worth it.

Very nice. It's a shame you aren't selling these. I would likely buy one. My only concern is the tiny plunger draw. What kind of ranges are you getting out of it now?
