Well, in applied tech today (like wood shop) we were talking about hydraulic and pneumatic ways of powering things. So our teacher pulls out a super soaker and ask us if it was hydraulic or pneumatic. I, of corse answered pneumatic. Then he pulls out an Armor shot!!! and asks if it was hydraulic or pneumatic. I was to in awe and couldn't answer it. So, now I really don't know what to do. I don't want to ask him for it, but I want it. I think I should be happy I got to ever see a Nerf gun from so long ago.

I can see you in class not paying attention and then he pulls it out and you immediately gain attention, much like your Grandpa Simpson avatar. :)

Feel free to inquire about it. However I don't know what his response may be.

Obviously it was neither. It's powered by magical fairies.

And you shouldn't ask them for it. Just ask them if you can use it. That way they know that you are into nerf. Strike up a conversation about your modding. Just let them know your there. Waiting. To kill.

Funny you bring this up, in my CAD class there's some old blue, ball gun powered by a crank on a shelf. It's there for backwards engineering.

I know someone is going to bring this up, so... here it is. This thread is in Nerf Wars because I clicked the wrong button. Does anyone know how to change it?

My music teacher has a ton of Nerf guns in a back room. All of the n-strike guns are back there. He doesn't know I mod them, but it's still funny to see him shooting people with them.

I was wondering the same thing. If anyone, teacher or student, had a object resembling a gun at a school in my area everyone would freak out, and that person would be completely screwed.

I think that is why my teacher has an armor shot. The girl who sits in front of me didn't even know what it was until he told us.

Nerf blasters are not weapons and unless the school has something stating that a bright plastic toy that launches foam darts are not allowed. Then it's perfectly fine.

On a related note, I was allowed to bring my spud launcher to school for physics.

Wow haha, I had a similar incident that happened to me. I was actually at my tutor's place in one of the Cal-Tech Labs, and we just finished my lesson on chemistry. So he brings me to another room and pulls out the Arrow Storm. Well I was quite awed by it but I really had no intention of actually taking it from him. First off, it was at the state in my life where I started losing interest in Nerf (I only nerf with unmodified guns now-a-days with my friends inside the house) and he had said previously that it was the only Nerf gun that his Lab partners and him shared to poke fun with. An Arrow Storm would have fit nicely in my arsenal but as I said, I had no intention of really taking it. So yeah that's my experience with "Nerf Gun in School."

Actually, in most school districts, anything that launches a projectile, be it foam or lead, counts as a weapon, even a stock AT2k. On a related note, the NYC Board of Education puts Nerf blasters and similar foam shooting devices in the same category as air-guns (pellet/BBs), thongs used as slingshots also fall in the same category.

That happens so much at my school. I find it so attractive when the girls do that.

Just be like "Can I have that? I will give you 20 bucks for it". Just do that after class and you will probably be good.

On the subject of the science of both the supersoaker and the nerf blaster, both are pneumatic.

That's a pretty funny story.

Back when I was in school, it was actually against the rules to have a G.I. JOE plastic, non-firing, gun. I'm talking the 3.5" G.I. Joe figurines that have teeny tiny plastic guns that are anywhere from 1/4" to 1.5" long. When I heard that rule, I thought, "That's ridiculous, nobody would ever enforce that."

Then my cousin brought a G.I. Joe toy to school that had a little toy gun and he got suspended without warning. His warning was, do it again and you're expelled.

Ask him, as long as he is nice then he'll understand. It was a bit awkward to explain to my electronics/tech teacher that I was in to nerf but I got around to it. He helps me machine things that I can do at home, plus he's helping me replicate hereticorp's stefan maker. :)
