I'm wondering if any body has biked long distance 100's of miles to a war. I'm now making this as an idea to get to APOC from louisville. I'm serious about this I will sneak away from my parents if I have to.THis would be hardcore I'm getting a good feeling inside.

You'll be dead by the time you get to the war. Especially Apoc with its big fields and tons of people to watch out for constantly. And then you have to bike back. Not to mention you have to leave about 5 hours before the war for each 100 miles you have to travel.

At least the way you have described it so far, this sounds like one of the dumbest possible ideas I have ever heard.
1. First there is a ton of planing involved. Planing a road trip (with a car) alone is hard enough, but planing a bike trip is much tougher.
2. Then going alone, and by what I've seen from your posts you can be any older than 14, is a terrible idea.
3. Then sneaking away from your parents, without their permission is even fucking dumber.

I'm 18 and this weekend I was told that I'm too young to check in at our hotel. Had to switch the reservation to be under Langley's name. 21 seems to be the general age. This isn't Europe. There are no hostels. You can't just backpack America at 15 or whatever. You're also going to need a huge budget. Hotels are fucking expensive. And days in advance and afterwards of meals. Just take a train or something if you can't fly alone.

1. Where will you sleep along the way? Hotels are very expensive and won't rent rooms to people under the age of 18. Some won't if you're under the age of 21. A bus ticket for that kind of trip would cost less money.
2. How will you pay for all of the food and drink you will consume while burning that many calories?
3. Can you really sacrifice a weeks worth of time in both directions? You are proposing traveling 739 miles in BOTH DIRECTIONS. By car that would be 14 hours of driving. 11 Days walking, and maybe 7 days of biking unless you have done that kind of distance before.
4. Have you ever biked that far before? You would have to be in extremely good physical condition.
5. Are you old or mature enough to safely make sure a trip possible.

Just stupid.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Well I've got time. I'm also needing ideas somewhat. Who knows I might not sleep I might keep a pocket knife and a pellet pistol which is just as dangerous as a real gun. A base ball bat and a ball just so there isn't a federal offense I'm going to use back pack. I'll do a lot for a war and this was inspired by SoF. Most of the road is country road in Indiana. I'm also willing to do it just so I can say "I can do that".I can edit to.

No, just no. Your idea is monumentally retarded and you should feel ashamed for having uttered it where other people could read about it.

How old are you? You sound like your 10. Sit back for a few days and think, REALISTICALLY, of what you've said in this topic.

I think you've said enough.

And your parents must not care about you a whole lot to let you disappear for a course of 2 days, and not notify police.

Ok I never said they wouldn't do these things. I also think that whatevere happens or in other word "I'll take my chances". Gears 2 days we're talking about 10 days. I can do a lot of things people would be surprised to see. If you see me at APOC....... well I'll leave that to you.

Since you're too young to get a hotel, you should look around, maybe check some aim chatrooms, and see if you can't find some kindly people to let you stay the night.

Theres alot of really friendly, nice people out there, that'd be more than willing to accomodate a young boy for a day or two.

I've organized every Apoc from the beginning, and it's relatively safe to say I will be hosting next year's Apoc. That said, I cannot and will not condone any of the methods that you, Longshot Wielder, have mentioned in this topic.

1) Lack of parental permission is asking for this turning into a missing child case. If you don't have your parents' permission, forget it. Really, just stop right there.

2) Biking that distance on the roads of the North East corridor is not only arduous, it's unsafe. Have you every seriously seen how people drive around the greater New York area?!

3) See point 1.

4) Like Slug said, look for more traditional means and have your parents' permission. Teenagers (those less than 18) shouldn't be traveling by themselves regardless. You're much better off getting a parent to go with you.

5) See point 1.

6) Short of a parent coming with you, I am telling you not attend this war. Oh, and see point 1.
